Problem reported to Support I have been experimenting with View Templates. I created a view template for a Board view. * I first applied some settings to an existing Board view of a list (name it list A), then extracted a template out of it. * Then, I went to Space Settings. I have List & Board view as required views. I configured this custom view template as the default view for required & new (board) views. * I clicked through a number of my Lists to see the view template applied to the required Board view in each list. * I found out my settings weren't completely correct. Starting from another list (name it list B), I corrected the settings and updated the view template from it. * I reapplied the view template as the default view template for the required Board view in my Space Settings. * All board views got updated except for list A. This seems to be stuck on the previous settings. * I now applied the updated view template to list A. I repeated this a number of times more. Every time, I reapply the view template as the default view template, it only gets applied to lists that I didn't use to extract the view template from, or where I manually fixed the view by reapplying the template. When I now "Browse Templates", I see that my custom view template is "Used: 8 times". I'm suspecting that the view template is in a way linked to a list to remember the choice and if I set a view template as the default, it only is applied to lists which don't have an explicit template attached. If it works that way, is there a way to unlink a view template and get that "Used: 8 times" counter back to 1: only be used as the default view template? Answer from Support When you set a view template as the default, it should apply to all lists that do not have an explicitly set template. If a list has been manually updated or used to extract a template, it may not automatically update when you change the default template. Unfortunately, there isn't a direct way to "unlink" a view template from a list once it's been applied. The "Used: 8 times" counter indicates how many times the template has been applied, and it doesn't reset automatically. To ensure consistency, you might need to manually reapply the updated template to lists that were previously linked. Feature Request I want a way to unlink a view template which was configured manually for a single list resulting in the default view template to be used which is configured in the space settings.

It is too complicated to apply your favorite views across multiple spaces, folders and lists. How nice that each space, folder or list can have its own views - but how frustrating that we can't start a new space, folder or list with the views we need … (except by choosing the matching template on point of creation).

Right, now it's only possible to set default view templates for everything, which is already helpful. But I find myself constantly setting different templates for every folder that gets created. It would be very helpful if we could set default view templates for each hierarchy level meaning a separate setting for list, folder, space, everything

More mindmap (and task-convertible whiteboard) templates for specific functions like Event planning, social media strategy, budget, etc for those who think better visually and want that option to create a task hierarchy in a visual way, and also want some help finding somewhere to start brainstorming tasks and concepts.

create a view similar to a whiteboard, but pinned image shows as the main feature. See attached. Could work as a rangeboard or a moodboard type thing. Alternatively, let me paste images into whiteboard view, and then link directly to a task? Thanks

Plz make a view with the timesheet by assignee / duration / task (no need to create a dashboard for each list) and show timesheet comment

I would like to be able to add a new view with a template to a sprint. Now i first need to add a new view, and then apply a template. I have a lot of views i have to add to a sprint, so this takes a lot of time.

Please bring back the box view! I don't want to use the board view and I don't want to have to use another app to organize things.

I would like the List view to be the default view when on the Space or Folder level. For ClickUp 3.0, when on Space and Folder level, the default would be the Overview. This adds an extra click and is challenging for some of our neurodivergent employees who have stated it makes it more difficult for them to see what they need to do..
