Problem: Custom fields can become messy when you have different types of work (tasks) within the same lists. For example, having a bug, feature, and an epic task all in the same list would cause them all to have the same custom fields, even though I would want specific ones for each type. Other issues arise when fields that should only belong to the top-level task spread down to all its subtasks. Ask: Custom fields should have the option to be added to a custom task type itself. Whenever I create a new task of that type, it will come along with all its custom fields. Those fields will not spread to any task that is not of that type.

Problem: Often within a single list, we have different types of tasks: some represent projects, designs, and smaller action items. Each one should go through their own set of statuses, but this is currently not possible. We are forced to either use dropdown custom fields as a workaround or create large status sets to try and encompass everything, leading to confusion among people. Ask: Give the ability for statuses to be set by type. This will allow each task type to have its own status workflow.

It would be great if in the Task View we could have the ability to customize (globally) the columns that we see next to each task. By default it is Assignees, Priority, and Due Date, with an option to manually add in columns, but that doesn't translate globally. I think a separate global setting for this would be a great addition as a lot of us are looking at start date and due date, not just due date.

in List view Please make it possible to sort Subtask when expanded under Task inside a Task Add more sorting option for Subtask, eg: Start date, Custom field, etc. also: what is the Manual ? it seems like its just a meaningless random sorting

Hi ClickUp Support Team, I’m reaching out to confirm whether this is currently possible in ClickUp (and, if not, to request it as a product improvement). What I’m trying to achieve (desired behavior) In List view, I want to: Filter by Assignee (e.g., show only items assigned to “Lucas”). Keep parent tasks collapsed in the list (so the view stays clean and high-level). When I expand a parent task, I want to see only the subtasks assigned to the filtered assignee** (e.g., only Lucas’s subtasks), while subtasks assigned to other people remain hidden under that parent. In short: Assignee filter should apply to subtasks inside the parent when expanded, without breaking the parent/subtask hierarchy. What happens today (current limitation) From what I’m seeing: * When I apply an Assignee filter in List view, ClickUp correctly shows parent tasks that contain subtasks assigned to that person . * However, when I expand the parent task , ClickUp shows all subtasks , including those assigned to other people — even though the view is filtered by Assignee. The only way I’ve found to actually filter subtasks by assignee is to enable “Show subtasks as separate tasks” (or the equivalent “Separate subtasks” setting). But this removes subtasks from the nested structure, which I don’t want because I need to preserve the hierarchy (parent task as the container, subtasks nested underneath). ## Why this matters (workflow impact) We manage work using: * Parent tasks as deliverables/projects * Subtasks as the actual assigned work items for different team members I need a view where each person can focus on their own subtasks while still seeing them organized under the correct parent deliverable . When all subtasks show under an expanded parent (regardless of filter), it defeats the purpose of the assignee filter for team-specific execution. ## Request / Questions Is there any native configuration (even if hidden/advanced) that allows: * parents collapsed in List view, and * when expanded, only subtasks matching the assignee filter are shown? If not, could you confirm this is a known limitation and whether it’s on the roadmap? If there’s an existing feature request, could you share the link so I can upvote it? In Docs it's great to be able to collapse titles. Can we have the same in the tasks' Descriptions? either put the exact same text editor, either let us add toggle elements that can be H1, H2, etc 🙏

The project view and task view would be less messy with the option to hide or collapse tags so that tags can still be in existence at the higher level or the org but unnecessary information isn't displayed on the daily.

Am I the only one who loses his mind whenever I have to create/edit/adjust tables in the task description field? Too many things popping up and disappearing, accidentally selecting buttons and menus and cells I don't mean to, always defaulting to the cursor when I need the arrows. Something as simple as slightly expanding or contracting a columns length becomes a needlessly time consuming and infuriating experience. Please just keep it simple like any other sheets document.

I would appreciate there is a setting that allows the Checklist section to be open by default in Task view.
