Enhance iOS Voice Control Support for Accessibility
Hi ClickUp Team, I’m reaching out with a feature request that I hope you’ll consider: adding robust iOS Voice Control support to the ClickUp iOS app. As someone with limited hand mobility, I rely heavily on Voice Control—an iOS accessibility feature that assigns numbers to touch targets on the screen, allowing me to “tap” them by speaking the number. This has been a game-changer for me, enabling me to interact with my iPhone almost entirely hands-free, including in task management apps like Asana, which I currently use. I’ve attached a screenshot of Asana showing how Voice Control overlays numbers next to most touch targets, making the app largely accessible to me. It’s not perfect, but it works well enough that I can manage my tasks efficiently without falling back to the less convenient grid system (where the screen is divided into numbered sections). I recently explored ClickUp because I’m excited about its advanced features and potential to streamline my workflow. However, when I tested the iOS app, I noticed that very few touch targets display Voice Control numbers. I’ve included screenshots and photos (taken with another device, since the numbers don’t always appear clearly in screenshots) to illustrate this. For example, key navigation elements and buttons often lack the numbered overlays, making it difficult to use the app hands-free. This has given me serious pause about switching from Asana, despite ClickUp’s appealing functionality. I understand that implementing full Voice Control support might be complex in some areas of the app, but even incremental improvements—ensuring core features like task creation, navigation, and list management are accessible—would make a huge difference. This isn’t just about my personal workflow; I suspect many users with similar accessibility needs would benefit, and enhancing this support could broaden ClickUp’s appeal to a more diverse audience. Plus, with accessibility being a growing priority in tech, it could position ClickUp as a leader in inclusive design—a win for both users like me and your team. I’d love to fully embrace ClickUp and ditch my current setup, but this limitation is a significant hurdle. Could you please consider prioritizing iOS Voice Control compatibility in a future update? I’d be happy to provide more feedback or test any beta versions if that helps move this forward. Thank you for your time and for building such a powerful tool—I’m rooting for it to work for me too!
