New home screen layout is a backwards step
in progress
Guy Mannerings
Android mobile v5.2.1 is a backwards step.
There is a menu along the top that repeats the hamburger menu (so is pointless). The home screen no longer has widgets - so you can no longer see calendar and other useful widgets, my work is behind another button press.
Also really want to be able to turn off the use of "Personal"everywhere, because it does not play well with how ClickUp advised setting up ClickUp - having your own Personal Space. So now I have 2. And I want to be able to turn off the now default one because it has way less features.

While I appreciate the tremendous amount of functionality the team is trying to pack into the mobile app, the challenge is that it is a "More is Better" approach rather than a "Less is More" approach.
Especially on mobile, a simple, easy to use minimalist interface, makes for a much faster, easier mobile experience. I've said it before, but Todoist is the master of a powerful, easy to use, minimalist mobile experience.

In my opinion, what is missing from HOME is the calendar. I believe that this is the biggest mistake of this new version.
And in this calendar view, it would be important to be able to configure it to view the day and week. This view is extremely important for rescheduling activities.
I would like to take this opportunity to suggest again (I have already done so in another specific section), I believe it is important to be able to view the schedules of other members and guests. The lack of this functionality makes it necessary to use Google Calendar.
And for those cards to which the guest and member do not have access, the calendar view could simply show the busy time with some "private" type information.

As someone who works in the field and relies on the Calendar view for my work schedule/locations, this very much a step backwards. Also, the current calendar view option is not syncing accurately with the desktop calendar. There are no filter options for ascending and descending date order.
I'm all for aesthetics, but not at the cost of functionality. Please restore the previous Calendar view option.

i like the old homescreen because it showed all today's task on home screen after open up clickup and it was the best

I agree with the turn off "Personal List" but disagree with the home screen opinion. I LOVE THE NEW HOME SCREEN. GREAT JOB!
In reality we just need to fully develop out Personal list better so it works well with the rest of clickup.
Personal list should almost be a different color so you know you are working in a private area -quickly

I agree with hiding "Personal" everywhere but I have to disagree that the homepage was a step backwards overall..
It is so much easier to navigate the mobile app now and to quickly jump into recently opened tasks. I really like it and the feedback from our team is positive with this update. It fits out personal use case better overall. Could definitely see the calendar widget being behind another click being annoying but we do not use that as much.
Selfishly, it is a lot better.

Thanks for the feedback here, and I know that I reached out to you specifically Guy, but I want this to be public for all the voters here.
We pushed an update yesterday that improved upon this home redesign, and responded directly to the majority of feedback that I have heard regarding this update.
⭐️ You can now see upcoming tasks and reminders in the 'Today' page in the top-right. This replaces the old My Work card on Home and serves all the same functionality, but also with events from Google Calendar.
⭐️ You can change the calendars shown by pressing the gear in the top right of the 'Today' page.
⭐️ We made improvements to the header design so it doesn't take up as much Space (showing you more tasks at a time).
⭐️ The Spaces tab had a few bug fixes so now you can access Spaces, Folders, and Lists faster than before.
⭐️ You can now customize the tabs on your Home by long-pressing on any tab. This is something we are going to improve over time and expand on, but right now it mainly is for reorganizing or defaulting to see your calendar. There is a My Work card but there is a height bug that we are fixing with the next release. This is a hidden feature on purpose for now as it's a bit experimental.
Please let me know here what you think and what is still missing from the old Home for your usecase!
Re: the redundancy: We eventually want to change the point of the sidebar and to get more users accessing these things from Home as that is primarily when they would access them. That is the reason we added Spaces, Docs, and Dashboards to Home. Still in progress of course, the sidebar still functions and everything, but our thinking is that with most users going to these places right after opening the app, it makes sense for it to be right in front of them at launch.
Re: Personal List: I feel you here. I have shared this feedback before with our PM covering that area, and I will share it again.
Let me know what you all think! 💜 Appreciate your patience as we improve this to fit so many different use cases!

Joey we want it should show today task first when we open clickup just like the old homescreen it was the best because we open clickup to today's task first then any other task
Michael
Sam - you can if you edit the tabs like Joey mentioned and then pull the My Work tab up to replace the Recents tab. You can reorder the tabs as you like.
Michael
Joey, when I pull the Calendar tab up, it is just a blank space, no calendar or tasks showing.

Joey We want to reorder tasks on My Work tab. It was a feature in old My Work and is a feature on desktop app. Also completed tasks should not appear in My Works.

I 100% agree with this! I feel like I lost a bunch of features I really enjoyed and used and didn't gain anything useful with this latest update.
