Problem: Custom fields can become messy when you have different types of work (tasks) within the same lists. For example, having a bug, feature, and an epic task all in the same list would cause them all to have the same custom fields, even though I would want specific ones for each type. Other issues arise when fields that should only belong to the top-level task spread down to all its subtasks. Ask: Custom fields should have the option to be added to a custom task type itself. Whenever I create a new task of that type, it will come along with all its custom fields. Those fields will not spread to any task that is not of that type.

Problem: Often within a single list, we have different types of tasks: some represent projects, designs, and smaller action items. Each one should go through their own set of statuses, but this is currently not possible. We are forced to either use dropdown custom fields as a workaround or create large status sets to try and encompass everything, leading to confusion among people. Ask: Give the ability for statuses to be set by type. This will allow each task type to have its own status workflow.

When typing in the Description field, the "Saved, view history, and expand" context box in the top right corner blocks text and does not disappear if you're actively working in the description. It would be great if this could hide or move outside of the Description text box when actively being used.

The ability to set what types of activity are shown, whose activity & the text filter then save all of it. Saving should have the option to apply for only that task, or for all tasks in the List/Folder/Space. It would be great if in the Task View we could have the ability to customize (globally) the columns that we see next to each task. By default it is Assignees, Priority, and Due Date, with an option to manually add in columns, but that doesn't translate globally. I think a separate global setting for this would be a great addition as a lot of us are looking at start date and due date, not just due date.

We’re using the HubSpot → ClickUp marketplace integration so that HubSpot tickets create ClickUp tasks via HubSpot workflows. Right now, all ClickUp tasks created from HubSpot appear as being created by a single “connector” user (the integration account). This causes confusion for our team, because task creator is often interpreted as the true owner or originator of the work. We’d like the ClickUp integration to support configuration over who is set as the task creator when a task is created from HubSpot. Specifically, we’d love either (or both) of these options: Creator = HubSpot owner mapping Use the HubSpot ticket owner or contact owner as the ClickUp task creator, mapped to a corresponding ClickUp user. Creator = configurable neutral integration account Allow us to choose a neutral “integration/automation” ClickUp account as the creator instead of the personal connector user, so it’s clear these tasks came from an automated workflow. Per HubSpot support, the HubSpot workflow already “knows” who the owner is; the missing piece is for the ClickUp app to either: Map that owner to a ClickUp user at creation time, or Expose a setting that controls which ClickUp user is used as the creator.

When working on subtasks and sub-subtasks, it’s easy to lose sight of the parent task and its important details like goals, priorities, or key instructions. I’d love a way to see the full task hierarchy (parent → subtask → sub-subtask) directly in the task view, such as a breadcrumb, expandable section, or hierarchy panel, so parent task info is always easy to reference without clicking away. Why this helps: Keeps context visible when working in deep task structures Reduces extra navigation back to parent tasks Prevents important top-level details from getting missed Makes complex, multi-level projects easier to manage This would make ClickUp even more intuitive for teams working with detailed workflows.

Especially in tasks with many related assets (Tasks, Docs...) the display of the related ClickUp assets is just a mess – even in Clickup 4.0. There must be the option to sort or even filter for example related tasks by name, date of creation, status etc.

In the Relationship tab in a Task, can we please show which direction the relationship is - so is the link from this task to another task or from another task to this task or both ways. It would be great to be able to have that one way relationship
