Recurring Subtasks Drift Out of Sync with Parent Recurrence
I’m running into a problem with recurring tasks in Workload view that I can’t resolve. Here’s the example situation: • I have a parent task with two subtasks. • I want the parent and subtasks to recur daily, staying perfectly aligned. • I also want to see the future recurring subtasks in Workload view, so we can plan ahead. The issue: • If I set recurrence ONLY on the parent, the subtasks stay in sync (good), but future subtasks only appear in Workload after the parent recurs — so we lose forward visibility. • If I set recurrence on BOTH the parent and the subtasks, then the subtasks get pushed forward twice (once by their own recurrence and once when the parent recurs), meaning they end up a day out of sync with the parent. In short: • Option 1: Parent-only recurrence → sync works, but no future visibility in Workload. • Option 2: Parent + subtask recurrence → future visibility works, but dates drift out of sync. What I’d really like: 1. A way for recurring subtasks to inherit their dates directly from the parent recurrence, without needing their own recurrence rule. 2. The ability to see those future subtasks in Workload view before the current parent task is completed. Can you confirm if this behaviour is expected, and if there’s a workaround or upcoming fix? At the moment it feels like we’re forced to choose between visibility and accuracy, which makes recurring subtasks much less useful for capacity planning. Thanks a lot for your help!

Scheduled recurring tasks - see future tasks before the due date, after completing.
I am disappointed I cannot see scheduled future recurring tasks in lists or dashboards until the due date. I wish there was a feature that would allow you to see the next recurring task after completion of the original one; while also having them pile up if you never complete them. I own a bookkeeping company and almost all of my tasks are recurring. I like to see what's coming ahead of time in my dashboard with lists. Unfortunately with scheduled recurring tasks, you cannot see the recurring task until the date it is due, this makes it hard for me to schedule things and know what is coming let's say in the next week - which is half the reason I got ClickUp. Same thing when viewing a List inside of a Folder - you cannot see any future recurring tasks on the List view, only in Calendar view. The calendar view does not give me a good view of the task details like I can on the dashboard, as it doesn't show the client's name, priority level, etc. - only the label of the task itself, and many tasks are the same, eg. "run payroll". This is why lists are better for me on the dashboard and in the Clients List view. Unfortunately because of this, I'm not going to be using recurring tasks. I will manually change the due date every time I complete a task, rather than marking it complete. I need to be able to see what's coming next. SOLUTION: When creating a recurring task, give the option to "show next future recurring task after completion" - on lists and everywhere, not just the calendar.
