Feature Requests

We struggled a lot trying to include a formula field in a list template. We tried many times, contacted the support, reading help documents but was impossible to get an explanation. Finally a support agent explained that was not possible to do that. We had a List Template which purpose is the administration flollow-up of each of our projects. We need a formula to calculate payable amounts we need to charge our clients, so we can replicate this field each time we use the template without the need to create manually the field each time. I think this is important also for fomula fields in general

Currently, updating a task template in ClickUp requires creating a task from the template, making edits and then re-saving it as a new template. Additionally, subtasks in templates cannot easily be scheduled relative to the parent task’s due date or a larger project start and end date (e.g. “5 days before the main task deadline”). Allowing users to open and edit task templates directly without spinning up a task first and enabling tasks/subtasks to be scheduled relative to the parent task due date or a larger project start and end date (e.g. -7 days, -3 days, same day, etc.), would encourage teams to keep templates updated and improve automation for repeatable processes like campaigns, launches, etc.

From Support: It would be nice if edits to our Views applied to previous versions. This would prevent us from needing to update hundreds of Templates manually in a larger organization.

Users want the ability to preview a template before applying it. Users want to be able to see what's included in a template at a glance. Comment below what information about the template is critical for you to see.

Our team works with different divisions and brands, so we need to set up separate dashboards for each of these groups to view privately. We would love the ability to save templates for dashboards/widget setup since we need to collect the same types of information for each group but with different filters (so they can see they're specific stats.) This would help us cut down setup time tremendously within Clickup.

Ability to save forms as templates at the space level so that we can simplify and streamline the process of requesting communications materials for internal staff. We primarily use ClickUp to manage all internal comms requests so, while I appreciate the new forms feature, I think relying on each member of the staff to create a form correctly is a bit too ambitious. But I don't want to be tasked with creating several different forms and then emailing them the link because I often don't know what they're working on and what their needs are until they've created a prioject/list in ClickUp using a saved template.

Allow users to have control over templates that they've created so that if a template is overridden it can still be accessed.

Notion.so has as awesome way of displaying/tracking meeting agendas and notes... and if this was in ClickUp, boy would it be amazing! You could even create action items during the meeting that are attached to the meeting + then added to the relevant projects, lists, etc.

Would be great to be able to organize my templates into folders in the template centre and to be able to organize them by space
