Retroactively apply Templates everywhere it was used after editing the master template
George
From Support: It would be nice if edits to our Views applied to previous versions. This would prevent us from needing to update hundreds of Templates manually in a larger organization.

Apply template updates to existing instances

Modern Entities
When you update a template in any part of the hierarchy, have the option to update all existing instances that use that template.
Any concerns about data safety could be handled by having any fields that are removed simply be hidden from the list view, but still be accessible when clicking into the item. Therefore you could choose to reintroduce the hidden field and still have all the data there, because the data still exists.

That's better than the Safari plugin news I guess Lily Chan!

We definitely need this for our business. This feature would obviously need the ability to create linked and unlinked copies from templates so we can control which copies are impacted by a template change.

It would be great to if after updating an existing template, those changes can be applied to all the spaces that had previously used that template by only applying the items that have changed.

Change template for all locations where it is used
Roberts Dzenis
When You update an template, all locations, for example folder, you've created from this template before doesn't updates, so You need to go trough every location and make updates manualy.
It would be good to have option.
After template update: "Do You want to make this changes to all locations this template is used?" Y/N?

This significantly hindered use of the feature upon initial implementation of ClickUp. With all the necessary trial-and-error, along with scope and use cases evolving over time, being unable to retroactively apply changes as your templates change and improve meant things would very quickly become inconsistent. This also makes rollout/adoption more confusing to new users within an organization; when they are told something is a "Template" but it doesn't consistently look the same, they [understandably] assume it either isn't a template or is a different template.

Update all documents when the template used receives a new version.

Would it be possible for all documents to automatically update when the template document receives a new version? For example, if you have a template for project information, apply it to all projects, and then later realize that a subpage is missing. If you add this subpage to the template, it should be automatically applied to all documents that were created using that template.

Update the lists with updating the templates

I've created Many lists using a template, now I need to change the template and I do need all the associated lists to be updated automatically. updating each individual lists manually would be a pain!

Auto-Update Templates Across Workspaces

I would love it if, when we update a task template, we can automatically update it everywhere the template was used.
