We have routine automations that we program into some of our lists and these are informational, including a date field, but the timezone of the ClickUp user is irrelevant. Our team members are all remote and the information we are communicating via these notifications is about someone other than a ClickUp user.

Right now, automations are done at the list level. This gives far less control since every task in that last would be subject to that automation. I am suggesting that automations be done at the TASK level so that you can set something for just 1 task.

Problem: Automation does not work for us, because we need to populate properties relative to other properties in the task (not “hard-coded”). From support: Automations currently only support hardcoded values. Dynamic field values for automations is a great suggestion! I would recommend dropping by our feedback board and leaving any suggestions there!

I'd like to have an automation that is triggered by the time in a status. For example: When task has been in Review status for 5 days, add tag. Another example for user support: When task is In Progress status for 10 days, send email template.

Similar to Chats and List AI Agents. Reminds people to do certain things when they update any doc. They can also help in document creation (repetitive task can be handled by them).

I assign work mostly at the lowest subtask level. This is where we make notes on work, log time, etc. once all lower level subtasks are completed the parent (deliverable) task would then be completed as well. Additionally if one of the subtasks is marked as in progress, then the parent task should also automate to be in progress as well.

I need to measure the time of an activity in the status, that is, I want to know how long that activity was in progress, I need to be able to automate the start of the stopwatch, so that the stopwatch starts when moving a task to the progress status, and that the stopwatch ends automatically when moving that task to complete. What I want is to be able to have a view on the dashboard of how much time each responsible person is taking to do each task.

Currently, it’s not possible to copy or transfer the monitored (tracked) time when creating a new task through an automation. It would be very helpful to include this variable among the available automation options so that the tracked time from an existing task can be automatically duplicated or referenced when generating a new one. This improvement would significantly streamline workflows involving recurring or derivative tasks, reducing the need to manually re-enter tracked time data. Use cases: • Automatically create subtasks while keeping the tracked time from the parent task. • Copy tracked time for reporting, billing, or analytical purposes.
