MindMap EXPORT
I was shocked to discover today that, apparently, ClickUp users can't really export their mindmaps at all. Although there are some attempted workarounds... I would expect that the software would allow us to export to PDF or other formats that can be imported or integrated with other software. In my experience, people attracted to the Mindmap feature have likely already used (or are using) Mindmap software(s), and allowing this integration (plus the PDF) would make the whole feature MUCH more attractive and useful. For example, I would love to create client mindmaps here in ClickUp but ALSO be able to export them to other software for interaction and storage (since I do MOST of my mindmapping in either Miro or Boardmix and have used MindMeister & Xmind). It seems no mind mapping software operates perfectly like you want, but each has its strengths and weaknesses... There may be some standard-ish(?) formats for MindMaps, but most (if not all) are proprietary, probably because each is, almost by definition, a universe unto its own. IMO, in the absence of universal standard file formats, perhaps making your own ClickUp proprietary format that you shared freely with other major mindmapping softwares would be another reason to choose ClickUp over competitors. Due to the whole "separate worlds" problem referred to above, FULL interaction may not be easily achievable between separate file formats, but the basic knowledge of node->subnode relationships would seem to be universally translatable.

“Auto-Clean” Function for Automatically Organizing Overlapping Nodes in Mind Maps
Hello ClickUp Team, I use ClickUp’s Mind Map feature daily to organize project concepts and brainstorm ideas. It’s a fantastic and intuitive tool, but as the number of nodes increases, I’ve encountered a challenge. When the map grows, the nodes and lines start to overlap, making the entire structure cluttered and harder to read. Once there are more than about 10 nodes, connection lines cross over each other and text overlaps, forcing me to spend more time manually adjusting layouts instead of focusing on the ideas themselves. That’s why I’d love to request an “Auto-Clean” feature. This feature would automatically adjust node spacing and line placement to minimize overlaps and keep the map visually clear . For example, tools like XMind or Miro automatically optimize spacing when new nodes are added — if ClickUp introduced a similar function, it would make expanding mind maps much smoother and more efficient. In my own experience, I’ve been building a “Product Development Concept Map” within ClickUp, collaborating live with about 3 team members. As the map grows, manually rearranging nodes becomes a time-consuming task, making it difficult to focus on content review. If the “Auto-Clean” feature existed, it would drastically reduce layout management time and allow me to focus purely on creative and structural thinking. ClickUp is truly the best all-in-one platform for both project management and idea development. I deeply appreciate the development team for continuously evolving the product with such user-centric innovation. Thank you for this amazing tool — I’ll continue to be a passionate supporter of ClickUp!
