When you create an automation for the trigger to be "every" and then go to custom, the only 2 options are daily and weekly, why not monthly?

I'd love if I could bulk select a bunch of tasks, and give them all the same "recurring" rules. Right now I'm going through a ton of different tasks and having to do it one by one.

Recurring tasks all share an identical name. A "Monthly Report" task creates 12 indistinguishable tasks per year — impossible to tell apart in List view, Search, or Dashboards without opening each one. Current workarounds (manual renaming, {{Current Date}} in automations, external tools like Make/Zapier) all have meaningful drawbacks. Proposed solution: Add dynamic date variables usable in task names on recurring tasks, templates, and automations: {{month_name}} — e.g. "June" {{month_name_minus_1}} — e.g. "May" (essential for reporting tasks that cover the prior month) {{year}} — e.g. "2026" {{quarter}} — Q1/Q2/Q3/Q4 {{week_number}} — ISO week {{date_formatted}} — with custom format string Resolved at task creation, baked into the name. Use cases: Agency client reports, finance month-end close, weekly stand-ups, QBRs — any recurring task where the period matters more than the creation date. Why it matters: Asana, Monday, and Notion either support this natively or via clean workarounds. The gap pushes ClickUp users to external automation tools for basic functionality.

I love the recurring feature but for me personally it's missing the ability to move a single task in the calendar without it effecting everything else. Currently, if my plans change for a certain day and I want to reschedule a recurring task due on it, I'd have to create the task again and thus clutter my calendar. Because I don't want to change my entire future schedule by moving this one task to a later time. Just a feature to choose wether or not to apply it to all (upcoming/everything) or the single task would help a great deal. Then it would be perfect for setting up a schedule. Let's say I want to set up a task for sometime in the future. I also want it to repeat after the initial due date. The behavior I would expect is that the recurring start date would be relative to the start or due date of the initial task, but it seems the recurring task begins on the date the task is created instead.

Some of our team members' workloads mostly consist of weekly recurring tasks, the subtasks often tackled by different people. Time estimates are assigned to the subtasks of these weekly recurring tasks to make sure we're aware of exactly how much time each team member should be tracking, and to determine if they have more capacity. Clickup isn't able to display the upcoming weekly recurring subtasks in the resourcing view. Couple you please make a toggle option to show this?

I would like to see the "skip weekends" option apply to "monthly" as well as we have month-end processes where these can only start on the first working day of each month. And as an extension, it would be great to load local/national public holidays based on location, etc. We have teams who work remotely so our public holidays do not always fall on the same days. And this applies to teams abroad.

Previously closed as not-on-the-roadmap ( https://feedback.clickup.com/public-api/p/get-and-set-recurring-tasks ). In the new era of AI agents, I wonder if the API can get higher prioritization? I'm sure I'm not alone in liking ClickUp, and using a Claude skill to drive it, triage my week, etc. It works great for non-recurring tasks. Recurring tasks are a big part of my workflow, and having to build that logic into my Claude skill (instead of using it through your API) means I'm increasingly less locked into your product. Would love the API (and an official CLI/TUI) to get some priotization!

I'd like to have my Super Agent remove the recurrence from the Due Date of a task (under certain conditions). Having tested this, this is not a tool that is available to the Agents.
