I tried making a solution...
I am looking to impress my bosses to use ClickUp for our ITSM needs. However, there are several basic things that are really lacking. Without them, it is really hard to convince them to go on board. There is no way to allow view-only guests to view and submit unpublished forms. We want our forms submitters for log in so that we can capture some basic information and validate that the submissions are done by authorised parties, while also prevent unknown people from accidentally stumbling on the form and start spamming away with fake submissions. However, this can only be done with permission-based guests, and we have hundreds of these submitters. It does not make sense to create a paid account for each of them. Automation does not even have the "contains" and "does not contain" operators. I tried using alternatives to validate submissions and consulted ClickUp Brain, and he always recommends me to use these operators even though they don't exist. I understand that using such operators or wildcards may put a heavy strain on your servers, but this is kind of a basic necessity where people from the feature requests have been asking for years. Prevent duplicates in tasks. Be it by task name or custom fields in tasks, this opens up a whole world of opportunities for different work flows. I could purpose a list to use as an Employee database or a proper asset list. Using automation to find matching tasks. Related to point 3, if we have unique values available, the automation can be made to find matching email address and tag the Employee to the task created from the form submission, as well as many other uses. There are a lot more basic features not listed that should already be there since the early stages, and a lot more customers could have been using this platform by now. I have read through other posts and nobody seem to understand the rational behind why the team is not picking up to develop these basic necessities. There are also many companies who could have used ClickUp to reach their own customers if not for the unnecessary licenses required to submit the forms WITH validation. All the solutions point to using integration with other services which adds to another unnecessary cost to us. The platform is advertised as highly customisable, but it seems that I have been facing roadblocks at even the most basic things. I really love this platform, and I still do use it smoothly to serve my own needs. But I don't think I can get past this stage to convince my bosses to use it as well and they are most likely going for other specialised ITSM services.
