When we're trying to make views that are specific and useful for a particular group of users (in the example artists) we can't use our project, which is a big template created in chronological order of the tasks that need to be completed to, display subtasks when they are displayed as "expanded". The only way to make them appear is to display subtasks as separate tasks, but that completely breaks our project view and makes it much less interesting for the project manager and the users. In the images below you can see our set up with two of the tasks displaying all of their subtasks in the "expanded" display mode. Then you can see what happens when I apply a filter, they all disappear. In the third image you can see the same view with the Subtasks displayed as separate tasks, but it's less useful as you no longer see the hierarchy of the tasks.

I just want to see my subtasks, no parent tasks

I would like to filter subtasks within a milestone and have them disappear from the milestone view. Current limitation within ClickUp.

Add the ability to temporarily disable/enable filters in any kind of View. The same way you can disable automations and re-enable them with a simple toggle. Would be helpful when I'm troubleshooting a set of filters and trying to figure out what works best.

When using the Assignee filter, any list view will ONLY apply the filter if viewing tasks as separate tasks. This had to be a bug as it eliminates the purpose of a filter. A filter should work when applied, no matter the way in which a view is sorted, expanded, or otherwise.

I would love to just filter by parent task name in calendar view since my subtasks for each task are all named the same thing (steps in the process). So when I'm working on a specific project, I only want to see the task + subtasks associated with it so I can easily drag and drop to assign dates.

Currently if one task was assigned to multiple assignee, this group of assignee will become an "assignee" to show with other single assignee, this is good for tasks, however this is not good to see the task load for each assignee, I would like to have a option to group by only single assignee, even some of the assignee may have the same task.

It would be great if we could use "Contains" as an option for filtering for dropdowns. For Example - Staus is Complete and " Contains" XX in a dropdown field.

Hi Guys, In the list view, could you please add an additional view for the "Group By".. which is truly default. We currently do not like the "Group By: Status" view, as it makes tabs status folders, which makes our list of tasks in a mixed order, and looks confusing when viewing a folder, with multiple lists / tasks. All we want is to view the list of tasks as we have laid them out, no group or anything. We can see the status using the status field. We don't need to have the list of tasks shuffled by the current Group By Status view. I hope that makes sense?

Let’s say I have 2 tasks. The first task has a status Active and the second task has a status Inactive. Both tasks have various subtasks. I would like to go to Everything, turn on “Show subtasks as separate items” and tell the filter to: show me only subtasks that have a parent task with Active status. Of course, the Status should not be the only criterion, I may need Priority, Due date, etc. This will give me the ability to use tasks more like actual sub-projects. I’m not sure if this has already been requested here: https://feedback.clickup.com/feature-requests/p/filter-tasks-by-parent-task , as I could not really understand that request. Fell free to merge this suggestion if this is the case.
