Group by single item (labels, assignee, tags, etc.)
under review
Scar
Currently if one task was assigned to multiple assignee, this group of assignee will become an "assignee" to show with other single assignee, this is good for tasks, however this is not good to see the task load for each assignee, I would like to have a option to group by only single assignee, even some of the assignee may have the same task.

Hey, everyone!
Curious to hear your thoughts. If this was built as a toggle in the grouping dropdown, what would you name this feature?
- "Group by single"
- "Group by individual"
- "Group by value"
or perhaps the opposite (and you toggle it on/off)
- "Group multiple values"
Any suggestions are welcome!

Group multiple values would be ok. But besides the name, when is that featyre be released ??? Is key for displaying information and waiting for so long to it !!!! Thanks

Michael I haven’t seen a need for grouping multiple values. I would definitely at least set the single as the default.

Michael Would default to grouping by individual values only, and toggle on the ability to group by multiple values. I think something like "Treat multiple values as a distinct group." would be the clearest, but if that's too long "Group by multiple values" works too.
Michael
Steve Daniels: Thanks for the response!
This questions comes from deciding on the in-app copy found on the toggle to change between the two experiences (Group individual items vs group multiple items). We'd support both options and allow the user to choose!
Michael
Paco Guerrero: Thank you! No release date to share today but it's top of mind for us to add

Michael I would find it intuitive to use the same toggle as already exists for filters in this situation.
Any/All, or perhaps Individual/All. Single/All would work too and fits the space better.

Michael I would also make this the default. I was very surprised by how it currently operates. But if you need to make it a toggle, how about "Group by combination of values" / "Group by individual values"?

Michael "Group multiple values" !!
Similar to what already exist in the board view to get swim lane.
"Group by" > "Couloir" (in french)
It could simply be a toggle under the one that already exist for couloir, and a new toggle option in the other view

Michael Group by individual if for assignees. The goal would be to get a report on what one person is touching.

Maybe “single values” vs “combinations”? Excited that this long-awaited feature is getting traction!

Michael can truly not think of any reason why anyone would find the way it works currently as useful. So I’d probably bury the setting into a sort setting and title it as a retired setting.
Group by combined (legacy) or something of the sorts.
It’s so completely useless as it currently stands I originally reported it as a bug as I can’t imagine why anyone would code it this way. If I tag something blue and red I need a list of all the tagged blue tasks and all the red tasks, not a list of all the blue tasks, red tasks and blue/red tasks. Absolutely obscure.
Might be worth putting as a click app toggle to not clutter menus since so few uses exist to want to group this way.

Ben Porter "All" would be too generic I think. Single/Combination toggle?

I would like to see this feature as well. I use tags to label tasks with the people I need to follow up with. When I go to call someone I want to see all the tasks they are working on so I can have an efficient call. I can use a filter, but grouping by tag and showing each person separately would be easier. Also, a list of all the people with all their work grouped under them makes it easier to decide who I need to call.

This is doable in some cards in the dashboard view, so shouldn't be that complicated to implement in list views. Seems like filtering needs an "includes" option in addition to "Is" and "Is Not"

Allow grouping function to group distinctly/single item. For example, if group by assignee, I want to see all 10 projects that the assignee is listed on (because there may be 10 different people assigned as well. Same for the Custom field that we use for team. It separates all 10 projects that the Business Intelligence team is working because 10 other people may also be selected as a team.

The Group By Assignee option on the Board view is very handy. We can adjust the task ranking by person. BUT if a task has multiple assignees, it does not show up in each assignees column but a separate column for that particular assignee combination. Not useful.

Group by Labels multiple labels should be separated, not made into new groups

If you have the labels "blue" "green" "red" and and item is labeled with both "blue" and "red," the item should show up in both the red group and the blue group, not in a new "blue, red" group. Or at least the view should have the option of which way to group. But by far the normal use case is "by each label" rather than the current "by each group of labels."

Is this feature "group by single item" coming? without this feature it makes it almost impossible to us click up for us.
As a workaround, we have to work with several lists at the moment which makes the whole structure in clickup very clunky.

You are so right. So simple feature and so useful, and still years waiting for it... That is why I started to use Notion

This would be very helpful for me as well. It allows me to create a view where I can see all tasks for each channel separately. Need this for assignees, tags and multiple select(labels).
