Show subtasks when filters are applied and subtasks aren't set to "As separate tasks"

When we're trying to make views that are specific and useful for a particular group of users (in the example artists) we can't use our project, which is a big template created in chronological order of the tasks that need to be completed to, display subtasks when they are displayed as "expanded".
The only way to make them appear is to display subtasks as separate tasks, but that completely breaks our project view and makes it much less interesting for the project manager and the users.
In the images below you can see our set up with two of the tasks displaying all of their subtasks in the "expanded" display mode. Then you can see what happens when I apply a filter, they all disappear.
In the third image you can see the same view with the Subtasks displayed as separate tasks, but it's less useful as you no longer see the hierarchy of the tasks.

Can't remember if I posted this before, but, in the same regard, the search box on List view (in the top-right) should also have an option to include subtasks that are
not
shown separately.Right now, it will not show subtasks that do match the search term unless they are shown as separate tasks.

Just ran into this issue. In my opinion the best way to remedy this would be to add a filter type just like the Filter By Task Type that is Filter By Subtask Type.

Also, I would like to be able to see Subtasks that DO match the filter, where the parent Task DOES NOT, and to see them automatically show as a separate task.
E.g., Task 1 does not match the filter, but Subtask 1A does. Subtask 1A would display as a separate Task with the subtask icon, even though the List view is set to show subtasks collapses/expanded (not separately). But Task 1 would not show.
This would mean Subtasks are not missed when they DO match the filter but their parent Task does not, and would allow you to keep things neat by using Expand/Collapse mode instead of "Show as separate tasks".

Wow, please fix this! (4 years on!)
In my "Priorities this week" dashboard, I want to pull out things that have high priority, are overdue, or are due this week. To my surprise, tons of my subtasks (specifically where I'm not assigned to the parent task) were not showing up when I expand subtasks. This is a huge bug!
As the OP points out, the subtasks are displayed when you click "Show as separate tasks". BUT this brings up another huge UI bug in Clickup--it pulls in orphaned subtasks I'm assigned to that are part of closed parent tasks!

+1. Please even just add an 'Apply to subtasks' checkbox in the filter UI.
User example case:
Arts org has a payment tracking view with a checkbox column for 'Ready for Payment' and a date column for 'Date Paid'. Each artist sits as a subtask under the event they performed at, and the org wants to filter by 'Ready for payment' is checked and 'Date paid' is empty. The accounts team could then see exactly who needs to be paid, and as soon as the Date paid field is filled, the subtask would no longer show on that list.
Noting that using the Subtasks as separate tasks would not work in this case, as there are also artists being paid for work outside of events, where they are a task rather than a subtask, AND sometimes the accounts team will pay the whole event as a batch payment, and enter the Date paid into the event task itself.

Agree! When clickup continues to defy all logic with making what should be simple things a complete mess it's just so frustrating.
And they send emails like they appear to be listening but, 4 years later, despite 441 upvotes and numerous comments, this relative completely undealt with. Incredibly frustrating.

Agree. We need the ability to the apply filters specifically to subtasks in all the views (I know for sure we can't in List and Table view). This affects my ability to have a clean view of projects and their milestones.

I love this idea if, like the comments below, this implies the filtering of subtasks AND tasks while maintaining the nested/indented hierarchy view. I think there's a slight disconnect with the name of this request.
