Is there any report or way we can see what spaces/lists or tasks have attachments over a certain size? As part of our housekeeping we want to look at removing any large files from ClickUp and move these to an internal server, DAM or cloud storage. Any feature, like GoogleDrive, that can show you what the largest files are and what tasks/spaces/lists they are attached to would be great. Thanks!

I would like to request the addition of a dedicated file management system within ClickUp. Currently, ClickUp allows attaching files to tasks, comments, and docs, but it lacks a centralized, organized way to manage files independently. Key Features Requested: Standalone File Folders: Ability to create folders and subfolders specifically for files, not just tasks or docs. Direct File Upload & Management: Upload, move, rename, and delete files directly within ClickUp, independent of tasks or docs. Integration with Tasks & Docs: Option to link files from the file management system to tasks or docs as needed. Why This Matters: Improves organization and accessibility of files within ClickUp. I would like to be able to view attachments in list view by default (instead of tile view).

Would be nice to have file versioning on (task)attachments and option to compare the different versions. In our case: When working on tasks, we're uploading files to receive feedback from our team. After which a new file is uploaded with all changes (v2.0).

When uploading attachments you should be able to assign them to specific tasks

This is a huge issue and is disrupting the functionality of uploads to custom fields for those tasks. I took a video of the attachments for a particular task. The email thread we have going with our client is long and every time they reply, their signature is automatically downloaded and added to our attachments. It took me a full minute to scroll through them all - there are hundreds of them and it buries the 5-10 important files that we DO need to reference. Worse than that, we are no longer able to upload important files to this task because it says that we've reached the maximum number of attachments. And then even worse, when I try to delete them to make room for important ones, I can only delete one at a time. It's a huge problem. I'm happy to send Clickup the link to the video I created.

It would be super useful to be able to add tags to attachments, and to be able to view attachments independently of the tasks to which they are attached (making file/document management easier). Our use case is when spaces are for an instance of a project or event that is repeatable (e.g. annual conference). Managing attachments by task means they disappear from easy view as tasks are completed. If we can see them all in one place with tags, it's easier to find key documents from year to year (or even within a year for that matter).

Either the ability to create folders in the attachments section in a task or the ability to upload a folder.

As refugees from Basecamp 2, one feature that I've not seen in action in ClickUp that we'll miss is the ability to see all files for a given project in one place—and, indeed, all files across all projects https://2.basecamp-help.com/article/208-files I believe a good place to initiate this view would be would be a 4th view button to the right of BOARD. (Please excuse the crudity of this model.) Files for a given list, space, team would be viewable depending on what level a user is situated. Being able to click on these files and go to the discussion(s) in which they're attached would also be fantastic. Indeed, using search or looking for the attachment icon on tasks is simple enough, but viewing all the "things" and starting there is a really powerful way to get users to get their bearings, especially if you're coming into a project that's been going on for awhile. Hopefully, this isn't a duplicate request. I'll take my answer off the air.

When a task fails to save or is deleted immediately after creation, any file uploaded in that workflow becomes an unattached (“limbo”) asset. • We can see the file in the global Files view, but it’s locked—neither downloadable nor deletable. • These files linger for 30 days until the automated cleanup runs, which clutters storage, confuses the team (“Where does this file belong?”), and may expose sensitive data longer than necessary. Why it matters • Storage hygiene & security – Orphaned files consume space and may contain data that shouldn’t remain accessible. • User experience – Team members click on these files expecting content, only to encounter an error message. • Governance – Many organizations need to comply with internal or external data-retention policies that require the faster removal of data. Proposed solution 1. Admin action menu for orphaned files • Allow Workspace Owners/Admins to Download, Delete Permanently, or Relink to an existing task. 2. Orphaned files filter in the Files modal, making them easy to locate. 3. Automatic notifications (optional) to alert admins when orphaned files exceed a threshold (e.g., 50 MB or 10 items). 4. API/Automation hook so we can use ClickUp Automations / external tools to clean up or flag these files programmatically. Impact / ROI • Keeps Workspaces organized and storage costs down. • Reduces support tickets about “broken” attachments. • Gives security-conscious teams immediate control over stray data.
