Attachments and Clips URLs behind Workspace authorization
Hey Canny Community! We wanted to start a new thread here on the topic of attachments and Clips URLs from ClickUp. Currently, attachments and Clips can be protected using the private attachment feature that expires the links after an hour. We have already kicked off work on further enhancing how we handle attachments and Clips in the product and have a dedicated team working on this. To enable easy sharing of attachments via links, the current method of using an unguessable, randomized sequence of characters in the URL was designed and implemented at a time when this was the industry standard. Search engines do not have access or index these links unless you intentionally add the link to a public, indexed page. The links are not known to anyone externally. While many similar products to ClickUp still use this same methodology, we understand that our users want and need additional security for their attachments and Clips. To address this, we wanted to give you a transparent update on the plans and timeline to expect changes. We will have an option to have attachments and Clips URLs behind Workspace authorization and, as of now, we plan to have this completed by the end of July. This would mean that the URL would only be accessible when a user is logged in to your Workspace. We are also going to give you the ability to turn off attachment uploads entirely for your Workspace if that is your preference. We appreciate your patience while we work diligently to give you control of how you would like your attachments and Clips URLs handled.

Allow option for subtasks to inherit / link to files from the main task
Since ClickUp does not have a very good system for creative review, we use subtasks. So I assign individual subtasks under the main task to each person I need to review the file. There is no way for me to link the file from the main task to their subtask. They all need to be viewing the same file for collaborative reviewing, so I cannot just upload the file to each of their subtasks as they would not see each other's comments. When I click the 3 dots to copy the link of the PDF I uploaded, that link just leads to an adobe PDF viewing tab, rather than opening the file in clickup for review. So putting that link into the subtask does not accomplish anything I need it to. My work around at the moment is to tag the reviewers in a comment on the PDF file so they can find it without clicking around (via the email they get sent with the comment), and then go back to their subtask (most likely via email again) to change the status / close their subtask. It's a clunky workflow. My reviewers are people who are less familiar with ClickUp and need a simple solution. --- My solutions: Add an option to Allow the subtasks to inherit / link to the files from the main task Make the link to the file open in ClickUp's reviewing window, rather than an adobe preview tab not linked to clickup. Then I can just link the file in the description of the subtask. Revamp the whole review process and actually add APPROVE / APPROVE WITH CHANGES / REJECTED buttons for reviewers, and a true review process, so I don't have to create a whole system with subtasks for them to review properly. (Wrike does this fairly well).
