Automation condition of "is/is not subtask"
under review
Jonathan Leung
I want to be able to filter a ClickUp trigger by "subtask".
For instance, when "Task created", I want to be able to add "if it is a subtask".

Why is it "Under Review" if I'm still not able to choose "If the subtask is created" then "do this". I want to use Subtask creation as a condition

Since it is in Review, I think it would make sense to flag to all of you this request that, in my opinion would make sense to merge in here: "Allow Nested Subtasks to also apply for Automations".(https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/allow-nested-subtasks-to-also-apply-for-automations). When we are talking about subtasks, we should start to have always in the back of our mind that nested subtasks are STILL subtasks, only at a lower level. And if we have an automation like "When All subtasks are resolved then Change status to CLOSED", this automation should work also for nested subtasks, don't you think? Cause unfortunately this automation is not working for nested subtasks since the system treats nested subtasks as second-rate tasks. And that is not fair! Let's give nested subtasks the attention they deserve! Why should I change the subtask's status to CLOSED manually when its nested subtasks are set as CLOSED and so why can't I use an automation to make my life less miserable? Please consider this change too. (A nested subtask fan)

I've been coming across this hurdle recently, it would be great to be able to apply automations to subtasks only.

This would be very nice! As it is, we are coming to rely on getting notifications when a task is created. Having the automation also send notifications when a subtask is created is very annoying and causes confusion
