I need to create a list where the main task will have a custom task type and subtasks on this list shouldn't be this task type. eg. Setting up a list for workers. Default task type is Worker/Workers. When I'm creating a subtask it's set to be worker as default, which doesn't make sense and generates additional clicking

Suggestion: Task types should be selectable in the space settings area — similar to views or other space-specific settings. It is currently not possible to sort the defined task types in the settings. Therefore, sorting in the list view is of no added value if the task types have not been created correctly from the start. Subsequent adjustments are impossible.

Currently, when creating a subtask in ClickUp, the subtask automatically inherits the parent task’s type. This can be limiting for teams that require a strict structure, especially when using custom task types. For example, if a parent task is of type “Project,” its subtasks may need to be of type “Milestone” or “Deliverable,” rather than simply inheriting the “Project” type. What about:- Adding the ability to define a default subtask type for each custom task type. This way, whenever a subtask is created under a specific parent type, it will automatically be assigned the appropriate subtask type as configured by the user or admin.

We want subtasks to remain the basic "task" icon, not inherit the task type of the parent task. This could be a toggleable option in settings, for those who like subtasks inheriting task types from tasks. For example, we might have a contract template as a task with task type "resource," which we are using to track through our document development and maintenance system. We like that we can use the "resource" task type to differentiate it from actionable tasks, but then when we add a subtask like "update footers on this version", it defaults to a resource task type when it IS an actionable item.

It seems that a limit to the number of subtasks you are allowed to have was randomly implemented in the last few days and it is incredibly unfortunate and debilitating to our workflow. Essentially we now have boards/folders/lists/tasks that took months to build and were being used daily that are now defunct because of this limit. Subtasks and nested subtasks are essential to our workflows, especially since we cannot create subfolders or sublists. This limit has cut us off at the knees and it came with no warning and from what I can see was not mentioned in any release notes. We only discovered the limit on the "Intro to subtasks" help article after trying to troubleshoot our boards when they just stopped working. Could the limit please be removed or at least revised on specific boards?

I add a lot of subtasks to lineup, and I would love to be able to see the parent task above the subtask I added to help me out!

Deleting/adjusting the default task types created by ClickUp should be possible. This is regarding "Task", "Milestone", and "Form Response". They clutter up the task list.

When on mobile Create defaults to Personal list. When you select List you want to create in it should provide Task Type that is default for that list. All mobile created Objects are always Tasks wasting time changing this. Will become bigger problem once Task Type custom fields are out of beta.

There I am, with a task that should be a subtask, and no parent task is avialbale. When I click 'convert to subtask' and it prompts a screen to select a parent task, and option should be 'create new parent task'
