For example if I have a task named "Create a report for Q2 sales" and then later I want to find it and I try searching for "Second quarter sales report" I want to still be able to find the task. ---------- Technical details: This is feasible, and relatively easy to implement, today thanks to LLM embeddings. It should be decently easy for you guys to implement, but will have a MASSIVE productivity boost for users. User story / motivation: I'm a product manager with more than 1,000 open tasks. When people ask me about a task during a meeting, I usually need to quickly pull it up in order to remember it and see where it's currently standing. Because there's so many tasks, I don't rember the exact wording of all of them by heart so I often struggle to guess the exact wording in the task and usually resort to brute force mutliple phrasings and spellings until I get it right and find the task. Sometimes, I even experience the worst case scenario of not finding a task through search entirely (after scrolling through all the results and attempting numerous variations of spelling/phrasing), so I revert to just opening all my Clickup lists, adding a few coarse filters to at least narrow it down a bit and then searching by hand through hundreds of tasks until I find it. This worst-case scenario has happened at least a few dozen times. Semantic search would save me from doing this, I would be able to find tasks way better! (If you don't believe me, I'm sure you guys can gather / check the logs and statistics of how many users don't find what they're looking for from search)

Extremely frustrating that we can't search by any words added in checklist items, subtasks or tags... if I have a task ID and i'm trying to find it using CTRL+F it never shows any result... i need to force the browser to use its own default search and then pray the task is visible in viewport. Same with subtasks and checklist items, search bar treats them as if they don't exist... impossible to find anything written there. Why is this not being developed? Seems like such an intuitive feature and I'm really considering abandoning Clickup because of this and using something else. Don't even get me started on comments... why can't we search for comments made on a task? 90% of task information and activity isn't searchable at the moment making the whole app extremely unusable.

Title says it all. Here are the scenarios: If I do a search for "MyWebsiteSpot Sprint 2", it will not show my sprint. This is because the sprint folder is actually called " mywebsitespot.com ". So because it's not an exact match, the sprint is not found. It actually goes below all the tasks on a fuzzy match. Realistically, it should be finding my folder using a fuzzy match. It should also be prioritizing my lists and folders over my tasks too. The above is solved by clicking "list" in the filters for search. But if I want to find a different list, and I re-open search, my last settings are automatically cleared. So that means I have to once again type it in, and click the filter for list (I have to do this every single search). The solution should be to preserve search settings, or let me save my preferences. Lastly, I regularly search the way I navigate "Space -> Folder -> List -> Task", it would make sense to me that typing an account name "My Website Spot" should return the space, or a list, before the 15 tasks that have that same name in it. A way to save "Search Priority" would help save time navigating tremendously.

ClickUp currently offers connected search and AI capabilities; however, it's surprising that it cannot read the content within PDF, Word, and Excel documents. In contrast, Slack intelligently suggests documents based on the content matching the search query, while ClickUp only suggests files based on their file names. This limitation is difficult to digest, especially considering the presence of AI features. Unfortunately, ClickUp AI also fails to perform deep content searches within documents, which significantly impacts our team's productivity. A truly smart search functionality that can index and search the content of documents is crucial, as it would save valuable time and greatly improve efficiency. I have already submitted a feature request regarding this. Kindly prioritize it as soon as possible, as this enhancement would be a major step toward making ClickUp a more powerful and usable tool for our team.

Ability to add a URL as a connected search source. Example a company's public docs page could be a great source for Brain to use as a connected search source.

With enough closed tasks on Clickup, the global search becomes almost useless as it mainly shows completed tasks. However, usually companies are dealing more with their active tasks and not searching for completed ones. Thank you so much!

Make Clickup accessable within the searchbar as a searchengine: i.e. for the chrome browser you can manage chrome: //settings/searchEngines https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/OpenSearch#autodiscovery_of_search_plugins

create an attachment with text as content, so that I can search for that text in when using the global search function? Here it could be either a clickup doc or a a word document attached or whatever, but critical for me is that if I go to the global search in clickup I can search for the text inside this document.

The search feature in ClickUp just straight up doesn't work, even if you straight up copy/paste the name of the task into the field. This needs to be fixed.
