Feature Requests

Our team would greatly benefit from the ability to filter messages in a Chat channel by a specific user. Currently, when multiple people are part of a Chat channel, there is no way to view all messages from a single person in that thread. We tried using the search field and entering the username, but it doesn’t return the desired results. Proposed feature: Add a filter or search option inside the Chat channel that allows selecting a user and displaying only their messages. Why this matters: Makes it easier to follow up on specific conversations or decisions from one team member. Saves time when reviewing past discussions. Improves clarity in multi-person channels. This would be a simple but very powerful improvement for teams that rely heavily on Chat for collaboration. Thanks for considering this feature!

Please make it possible to add custom names to chat threads, it would make organisation and information discovery so much easier!

As a project manager, I'm also trying to set meetings with my entire team in a ClickUp chat channel. Normally I have to get them to respond using emoji reactions but it would be a lot easier if there was a 'poll' feature in the chat that the team could just fill in.

When sending multiple chats to the same person on the same day, there is no easy way to identify separate chats; instead, it looks like it is all one chat. When sending multiple chats about different topics, it can be hard to differentiate between chats. Maybe a black line between each chat? This would also encourage people to respond in each thread.

Dedicated app for Clickup chat. The most common feedback from my team in trying to implement Clickup chat as our primary chat app is that it's nice to have a separate application window that is dedicated to chat.

It would be helpful to allow users to customize channels by adding images or icons. This would improve quick identification, personalization, and navigation—especially for teams managing many channels. Similar to how emojis can be used in lists, visual cues for channels would create a more intuitive and user-friendly experience.

It'd be great to have a read receipt or icon to let users know when a chat message has been read.

While there's a download icon in ClickUp Chat, clicking it opens a preview instead of directly downloading the file. This is frustrating for document-centric teams and adds unnecessary steps.

As it currently stands, the Chats only support replying in Threads or simply typing a response. This can get clunky. I'd prefer to be able to reply to a message in the same chat as you do in Google Chats or Discord, etc. :)

It would be useful to be able to invite external attendees - those who are not members/guests of your Workspace - to take part in SyncUp calls. Until then, Zoom (or equivalent) still has to be used.
