Must-Have Feature: Read Receipts in ClickUp Chat Channels
Dear ClickUp Team, We are requesting the implementation of Read Receipts in the ClickUp Chat channels (both direct messages and group channels). This feature is crucial for effective team communication and workflow visibility for the following reasons: Accountability and Confirmation: When sending important or time-sensitive messages to a team channel, it is often critical to know that the team members have actually seen the communication. Without read receipts, we are left wondering who has received the information and who hasn't. Reduces Unnecessary Follow-ups: Currently, the lack of confirmation leads to time-consuming, unnecessary follow-up messages just to ask, "Did you see my message?" Read receipts would eliminate this friction and allow the team to focus on the work itself. Improved Team Trust and Clarity: Knowing when a message was read and by whom (a list of users who have read the message) provides clear visibility and ensures everyone is on the same page regarding important announcements, updates, or decisions. Suggestion: We propose a simple visual indicator (like a double checkmark or a "Seen by" link) that shows: The time the message was read. A list of team members in the channel who have read the message. This is a standard feature in many modern communication platforms (Slack, Teams, etc.) and its addition would significantly enhance the usability of ClickUp Chat as a reliable communication hub for our team.
