Feature Requests

We currently use the API to integrate ClickUp with custom enterprise software systems and databases. Currently, the API actions have to be performed under a user account so all of these automated actions appear to be from a single user. It would be useful for the workspace owner to be able to generate an API Key where the actions are shown to be performed by an API Bot, similar to how automations show that they are performed by ClickBot.

When using a parent taskId with 'include_subtasks=true', the GET Task API does not return complete data for the subtasks associated with the parent task. Most notably, the 'custom_fields' data is NULL. That is very frustrating and defeats the purpose. I might as well just feed all taskId values into their own calls instead of saving time using the parent taskId. Further, I noticed other fields are also missing. When using a basic taskId query, you get time_estimate and time_spent. But if you use a parent taskId query, only one of those fields is returned for Subtasks. Long story short, it just doesn't make any sense how ClickUp has decided what to return when using a parent taskId in conjunction with 'include_subtasks=true'. It causes our developers to have to loop back into the API to get all relevant subtask metadata.

We'd like the ability to access deleted tasks via the ClickUpAPI, or have an attribute that details if the task was deleted from the front end.

I just tried to create a new sprint folder and set the first sprint on the same index as our other sprints (Sprint 15 for 31/07/23 to 12/08/23) but ClickUp won't let me choose to start on Sprint 15, I'm forced to start on Sprint 1. I had to duplicate another sprint folder without the tasks to get what I want. I don't understand why it was possible before and not anymore. It is useful, we need this feature.

I would like to create lists from templates with the API or with Make.com . I can create a task from templates but not a whole list.

The last_active field returned for each user looks like it is actually returning the date the user last logged in rather than the last time they were active. I would like a field that shows the last time they took any action in ClickUp rather than just the last time they had to authenticate.

Related to https://api.clickup.com/api/v2/task/abcdef/comment API endpoint. Allow using markdown syntax (tables, h1, embedded images etc) while adding a comment to a task. It is possible to use markdown with markdown_content paragraph while creating a new task. I would expect the same behaviour for comments.

Unfortunately the endpoint of fetching tasks does not have "content" attribute in the response, it only has "text_content" which is not useful for me, it's causing us need to call each task separately as a single task to get the full "content" which eventually leads us to have a huge amount of requests for importing all tasks of a workspace Endpoint: https://clickup.com/api/clickupreference/operation/GetTasks https://api.clickup.com/api/v2/list/{list_id}/task

I would like to manage duplicates on ClickUp(projets wich have the same name for example) It would be easier if ClickUp allows us to highlight tasks which have the project same name

The Open API docs are a mess, and the response on runtime does not match the models. For example: "Getting Tasks of a List" ( https://clickup.com/api/clickupreference/operation/GetTasks/ ) I receive custom_fields of each task with the values on runtime, but it is not specified by the API documentation. Also, what I get is the model "Task9", that differs to the models Task, Task1, Task2, Task3, Task4, Task5, and Task6. Yes, there are seven different models defined for a task.
