It would be great if I can choose "me mode" in an automation.
Here's my use case:
There are a new feature with 20 tasks. All in To do status. Developers decide which one they want to work on.
So I want to make an automation:
When status changes from to do to any, Then change assignee to "currently logged in user". The user who changed the status.

Is assigning comments to a dynamic user going to be considered as part of this feature? I'm looking at multiple ways to notify a specific person who is the support rep on an issue, without having to assign the issue TO them. I also don't want to use watchers, as anyone can set themselves as a watcher. Thank you!

- the reassign option
- when creating a subtask by automation, I'd love to have this option for the subtask assignee as well!

Zach - ClickUp I'm trying to set up an automation where the submitter of a form is auto-assigned to the created task, but this hasn't worked. I've set the automation to use "Triggered by" and "Task Creator" but with both settings, no Assignees are added to the task. Is this a bug or is it known that form submitters will not be assigned since it's the ClickBot actually creating the task?

Zach - ClickUp Hi Zach, sorry for the delay! The users that I'm referring to are internal workspace users. I previously had an Assignee field on a form where users would manually select themselves so that they would be assigned to the task that's created. When the Dynamic Assignees went live, I removed the field and added an automation to assign the Task Creator, so that our users would no longer have to take that step of assigning themselves. However, even though I have the automation, users are still not being assigned. Looking at the activity log of each created task, it says that the ClickBot created the task, not the actual user, so I don't know if this is the problem. Hope this provides more clarity on the issue I'm having. Thank you!!

thanks so much, this feature is really cool and we were very much looking forward to it!
Unfortunately we have exactly the same issue as Kevin McDonald describes. Our users are guest accounts, so imo well known to ClickUp.
Our analysis so far came to the conclusion that it is a matter of permissions.
As we only want our guest users to comment on the created tasks (they should not be able to edit them after creation) we configured the rights accordingly. In this case the task creator is "ClickBot" and not the user itself.
As soon as we change the permission to "Full" the user is the task creator and gets set correctly.
Can you confirm this behavior?

Destiny Pidgeon: Long story short - We intentionally didn't add it to reassign because of technical engineering reasons (we'll probably rethink that option altogether).
But you should be able to use add and remove to achieve your desired outcome!

Zach - ClickUp Awesome thanks! I see that you can assign from "People Field" (which is great!), but what about being able to do the opposite - like automate setting the "people field" based on who is assigned. For instance, we do QC checks on tasks. So Person "A" is ASSIGNED the task, but once finished, it get's assigned to an inspector (Person "A" should be removed since the task isn't assigned to them, and Person "B" is not assigned as inspector). But I want to make the "Person Responsible" (People Field) to be set to Person "A" (who the task is assigned to prior to swapping them to the inspector) - which can be different per task. Is this going to be Phase 2?

Zach - ClickUp ; Just checking; The "Change Assignees" is meant only for the primary task, correct? For example I have a subtask created in the when as a trigger and I want to use this dynamic assignees to change that task assignee but it changes the primary task assignee and not the subtask that triggered the automation.

Zach - ClickUp I started testing this automation yesterday, I wanted the creator to be assigned to the task, but now every time someone creates a task, it gets assigned to me (automation creator), not necessarily the task creator. Is this something currently being worked on? Thanks!
