Calendar View dates determined by custom fields

From support ticket: Right now, tasks and Lists appear on the Calendar View based on start and due date. It would be great to have the option to see a calendar based on "date" custom field entries I've applied for tasks

This feature seems to be missing again in ClickUp 3.0 - I can't find it anymore. Can this please be brought back?
Jan Dvořák
Lars Schewe: On web, I have it. In calendar view, Customize/Calendar options/Date custom field. Also, a toggle for hiding Start and due dates.
Lars Schewe
Jan Dvořák: Ah, found it! Thanks, Jan!

I can no longer find this option. Neither on the web nor in the MacOS client. Can you confirm that it no longer works?
Jan Dvořák
Pascal Jordin Now it is: Customize/Layout options/Task dates. Make sure that you have the calendar view created on a hierarchy level, where actually is a date customfield.

although this looks like it's done on the web side, it does not seem to work on the phone app. most of my team are in the field and i cant get the calendar that uses the custom dates to show. I must use the due date....

Can this same thing be added to mobile?

The right panel does not respect custom date field:

Currently I can only see the "start date" in the mobile calendar view...however we need to distinguish the start date from other dates..."scheduled meetings" for instance.
While its great that the PC app calendar view has the ability to see custom field dates on the calendar, we have many people that need this ability on the go while on project sites.
Improvement Suggestion
Allow the mobile app to view "custom field dates" or at least provide more viewable mobile app default date fields for the mobile Calendar view.

We need to set Custom Dates Fields with TIME (hh:mm, not only dd/MM/YYYY) when we add an automation (for example: When we add a task in a list, Set Custom Date Field one day before the Due Date included time (hh:mm), not only date dd/MM/YYYY). Also, the custom date fields must have a Start Date with time and Due Date with time, too, not only the Due Date, so we can add them a duration in hours and reschedule them in an appropriate dated day and hour to do.

Nice to be able to visualize custom date fields, but very difficult to edit without the drag and drop feature.

Nice to have that added, but noticed you can only see the custom dates on the calendar view of the Space you have the task created on, even if I add it to other Space I can't see the custom field data. Would be great to have an option to show "all assigned to me" no matter what list it's in, like we have with regular Start and End dates

I don't think this is "complete" at all.
When the task is on the calendar based on start and due date, it's there between the start and due date.
With the new setting, there's no way to get it on the calendar for a duration. We can have it displayed based on two dates, but then it just displays at both of those dates - they aren't treated as a start and end date.

James Polley: totally agree. It is actually useless and very confusing when you can't set a duration and only single date

Great that this is here. Also be great that if (on a list by list basis) you can sync to google calendar based on this custom field date rather than due date.
