Any update on this? Seeing all my text in Dutch with red lines under it is firing up my OCD :).

Niels Haagberg: Hello! ...if yo go to "C:\Users\NAME USER\AppData\Roaming\ClickUp\Preferences" and leave blank the "spellcheck" parameter, then the red lines disappear ;)

Mauricio Valdebenito: Thanks, but I do want it to work. Not have it disabled completely.

Mauricio Valdebenito: Looks like an array or so, can I add more than one language?
Sjoerd Handofsky
Niels Haagberg: Changing it to {"spellcheck":{"dictionaries":["en-US","nl-NL"],"dictionary":""}} seems to work
James Hogg
Sjoerd Handofsky: nice work Sjoerd... even English Australian was doing my head in.
not too hard to browse to:
- C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\ClickUp
- open Preferences in notepad
- change {"spellcheck":{"dictionaries":["en-AU"],"dictionary":""}} and save
- restart Clickup app.

Sjoerd Handofsky there's a way to add more than 1? THANKS MAN!
Sjoerd Handofsky
Bruno S. Rosa I imagine it is, like so:
{"spellcheck":{"dictionaries":["en-GB","en-AU"],"dictionary":""}}

Any update on this? It is quite common to write documents in English in international teams, but OS are usually configured for local language.

This is much needed still. I'm on windows desktop app, and the Clickup app doesn't listen to any language/typing setting changes on the OS. I tried them all and Bryce H. from support confirms that this is indeed a bug.
I would prefer a spell-checking which recognizes the language used for THIS document automatically. I myself write some in Norwegian and some in English

It does? Does not work then

Hey all! The spellcheck for the Desktop app should match your OS setting. To change that, change your system settings.
Jonathan GERBAUD
Eric Wightman: Hmm, I don't think you've understood this feature request. Plus, it doesn't work.
If I set the language in English in my Clickup settings, the spellcheck still underlines every English word I type and offer French suggestions instead...
Anyway, the feature request was to be able to define the language per document, as we can sometimes write a document in some language and another document in another language.
For example, I'm French and I write sometimes docs in French, others in English (mostly in English).
Right now, Clickup's spellcheck depends on the OS' language and there no way to change that, either globally, or per document.
Eric Wightman
Hey Jonathan GERBAUD, thank you for the additional context! I definitely can see how this will be useful noting all that and I reopened the request
Jonathan GERBAUD
Eric Wightman: Thanks!

Eric Wightman I cant for many reasons change my computer settings, its in English and will stay in English. But i need to have my spellcheck in mostly in Swedish and sometimes in English. For us that need more than one language this forces us to go back to the Web-app. I cant believe this is a hard problem to solve, just som "error" in the planning. People don't always use the language of their IP number or OS.
