Searchable Custom Fields

Custom fields are great -- well done :)
We'd love to be able to search based on a custom field's contents.
For example, right now we use custom fields to record a task's job number, which matches our filing system. Would be great if we could search the job number in ClickUp and have that task appear in results.

Hey all! Great news!
Now you can find tasks easier than ever before, with new Custom Field searching! Just input your text-based Custom Field value into any view search bar!
Look up a contact by their email, find client tasks by searching for their website, or locate an email within your index by subject line—the possibilities are endless!

Searching via Custom Task ID can be done in global search! For any global search feedback, please check out the board for that feature here: https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/search-v3

This is not complete. We cannot search custom fields in the Mobile App which is ludicrous because it's a backend feature.

In Release 2.81, we implemented the ability to search for tasks in views by Custom Field values.
After listening to your feedback, we added the ability to enable/disable Custom Field and Task Description searching—giving you even more flexibility in how you find tasks! Just click the dropdown menu next to the view search bar to toggle on or off your search options.

Eric Wightman: Unfortunately it's not searching for custom fields in the main search (top right hand side). So the only way is to search under "Everything" but you have to make the searched custom field global, which makes it belong to the entire Workspace - and it's a disaster of its own. I accidentally promoted 2 custom fields to become Workspace fields and now they appear everywhere, with no ability to revert that action.

Alexander Zonin: Hey, there! Custom field searching is not currently available in global search, just the search bar within a view! We're working on some improvements to global search soon after our focus on bugs and performance.

Eric Wightman: Searching by Currency custom fields does not work.

Garrett Munroe: Did you already report this as a bug? If not, happy to do that for you! The benefit to you reaching out to bugs@clickup.com is you'll get updates when the issue is resolved :)

Can we get search on number based fields as well (i.e. the money/currency field)?

Is there some way to filter out the Custom Field columns, like if we have a report for multiple months and only want to see the columns labeled "May" or "December"?

From a ticker: User would like to be able to apply People custom field to views such as Workload, Timeline and Box views, to examine multiple roles assigned to a task.

Type in task ID to get to that task
Gunnlaugur Þór Briem
Hi. I know the ID of a task, say
CLIENT-304
. I don't know the name. I want to go to the task. How do I do it?I want to just hit G (or whatever) and type in that task ID. Takes milliseconds, done! 😍 But nope, I can't find any “go to task” action or keyboard shortcut. 😕
So I try typing the task ID into the search. But nope, the search doesn't match on task ID. 😮 At least not ranked near the top.
So I try typing the task ID into the filter box in the Everything view. But nope, the filter box can't be made to filter by task ID. 😣
As far as I can tell, there is _no UI_ to get to a task by its ID. I have to remember some part of the name or description and do a search (and wait N seconds because, my friends, that search... 😬), or add the “Custom Task ID” column and sort by it and manually skim down it, as if it's the stone age.
My workaround is to go to some other task in a browser, and replace the task ID in the URL. That workaround doesn't help in the ClickUp app, only in a browser. If I'm on my phone, I'm SOL.
I like ClickUp overall but this omission is astonishing. It jabs at my heart every day. Please fix it. Thanks :)

Search Capabilities
Meghan Carr
Hi,
Our company runs our development off of "ticket numbers" aka tasks. The search functionality that is within click-up doesn't allow for an easy search via ticket number. It actually doesn't match the number at all. I would recommend adding more in-depth search functionality to your platform.
