Being able to search on text that is part of a documents would be awesome.
For example: If I search on "people" and "people" is part of a text in a word document or pdf the clickup search feature would list that document.
This is a feature in windows OS, google drive.
Generally the only thing why I would use drive for document storing instead of clickup.

Searching for tasks assigned to a team member is impossible. It's not an option. When you attempt to search for a person, the app returns just random tasks even if the name of the person is not contained anywhere in the task. Try it! Search for Michael and see what you get. It's totally random and thus useless.

It would be so helpful to have a "whole word only" option on search, including search within docs. For example, I needed to find a doc page that refers to opening a SEP (a kind of retirement account). Even when I put a space before and after the search string, the search finds "September" and "separate" and every instance of the string starting a word. So I tried searching on "SEP" including the quote marks, and the quote marks were taken literally so nothing at all was found. How about a little "word" flag we can set?

Would love to have the option to do "x word" + search in: docs, lists + status + archived or not either by filters or by commands. And add range of dates

Hi there, your search function never works and finds the right items. It needs to be smarter and pick up the keywords from the task not just the task title. how can you do this?

Feature request: when clicking on a search result from a doc, ClickUp should highlight the instances of that query in the document and allow the user to navigate through each instance of the query (similar to Ctrl + F in web browsers / word processors).
Currently, when you click on a search result it just takes you to the top of the doc, which means that if you're searching in a long doc the search function has little to no utility.

I hope the search filters will include
Closed / Open
And a setting to choose if I want to only search open tasks by default :)
Thanks :)

@Siif: I agree! 95% of the time I'm searching for tasks that are not closed. If if I need to include closed tasks, I'm happy to select that from the settings menu if needed.
