Automation & Workflows
complete
Automation gives you access to workflows within ClickUp. If you are familiar with enabling actions triggered by specific events, you'll love what we're doing. If not, you'll REALLY love automation in ClickUp.

hi, would it be possible to create an automation that deletes/removes subtasks?
Noemi Nikoghosyan
hi, is it possible to create a list template that will keep also the automations?
Axell Padilla
Hey, you should be able to use client processing power to automate, then you will not need to put those limits that low.
Jan Dvořák
Axell Padilla: I hardly think it to be possible. On Enterprise level, perhaps. The automations must run 24/7, especially when we have our computers turned off.
Axell Padilla
Jan Dvořák: Maybe unlimited processed by client, then the same limits online, i'm not saying to disable online processing, a lot of actions I can thing of are triggered when an user do something and if the user is using a pc that processing power can be useful to move some cards, do some things without overhead for the servers

Axell Padilla: Conceptually, what you're saying makes sense, but it makes it more complex to code it. How do you determine what can/should run on the client vs. the server? If it's only user-action triggers, would it have a large enough return on investment to make it worth the extra development work? Would it make significant difference to an end-user? I suppose if the majority of an end-user's automation is user-action based, it might, but is that actually the case for most people?

Any separate roadmaps on Automation fixes and upgrades, ClickUp team? So that we don't bomb you with similar requests :) Ivan Villa
Ivan Villa
Michael Kolmanovich: Great question! we have this request thread where we are collecting feedback while we are in beta https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/automation-beta-ideas-improvements
If you do run into a bug that can go straight to support or the bug request form found within the ClickUp resource center :)

I can't for the life of me find the automation icon. It says it should be next to the list title but I don't see anything new.
Simon Stafferton
Sam DiNicola: Same... hunting high and low, still nothing :( maybe its not on all accounts yet... Ivan Villa ?
Simon Stafferton
Ok just found it when in Chrome.. was using Mac App and its not there... but after a restart it is! Sam DiNicola

Simon Stafferton: got it now! Both on chrome and mac app.
Dipesh Desai
I was looking for the webhook with payload. When does that release?
Nick Krekow
Dipesh Desai: Looking to have it out tomorrow!
Mario Kirolos
It's super amazing feature, thank you for putting it to production
Dragan Marian
Excellent, I have been waiting for a long time for this release. One minor gripe is that this feature is only enabled at list level although I understood that this will remedied in the future releases. Other than that just plain awesome :)

While this is out in beta we would love to get your feedback and ideas here https://clickup.canny.io/admin/board/feature-requests/p/automation-beta-ideas-improvements
Pelayo Romero
Ivan Villa: It's a fantastic functionality that we've been waiting for a long time.
Just a little idea of improvement. We'd like to be able to automate workflows if the task title contains a certain string.
Thanks !
Josh Dean
Ivan Villa: Being able to create automations to apply globally would be great!
Karen Brackett
Josh Dean: or let us choose if we want them at a space, folder, or list level.
