See All Recent Chat Activity, Including Threads I Don’t Follow
Hetal
As a Workspace Admin or manager, I need a way to see recent chat activity across channels, including thread conversations that I am not personally following.
This is different from automatically following every thread (requested here: https://feedback.clickup.com/chat-feedback/p/follow-all-threads-in-chat-by-default-and-get-notified.)
I do not want to be added as a follower to every thread, and I do not want to receive notifications for every thread reply. That would quickly become overwhelming.
What I am asking for is an activity view or audit-style view for ClickUp Chat, where an Admin can open a chat channel, or ideally view this across all chat channels, and see recent activity, including replies inside threads, even where the Admin is not following the thread.
A similar concept already exists for Tasks. In a List, we can use the Activity view to see activity across tasks, including task comments and threaded comments. This is useful because it gives managers a way to understand what the team has been discussing or updating, without having to manually open every task.
As more teams move their communication from Task Comments into ClickUp Chat, there should be an equivalent visibility layer for Chat.
Use case:
For example, a manager may want to do a quick end-of-day review across channels to understand what happened, what decisions were made, and whether any issues need attention.
They do not need to participate in every conversation or receive notifications for every thread. But they should still be able to see that activity somewhere.
Right now, if an important discussion happens inside a thread and the manager is not following that thread or directly mentioned, that context can be missed.
This would help admins and managers maintain visibility without creating notification overload.
