Don't show message on mobile if already read in web chat
completed
Dima Pursanov
Now if I'm speaking in chat and the chat is opened - I still get mobile notifications for the same chat! Useless actually, because the chat is being read anyways. Can you disable this or add an option to turn off mobile notifications for already read or active chats?
UPDATE: rechecked and there are already posts about this in feedback thread. So this one is kind of another duplicate. But this is really pain :)

If I already have the chat open on web, mobile notifications shouldn’t still fire.
Glad this is marked completed, this was definitely needed

Clear iOS push notifications when already seen
Thibaut
Right now, iOS push notifications are very noisy, I get one for each chat message, and if I read the messages on my laptop, they're not cleared on the push notifications of my phone (iOS). I know other apps clear them automatically. Would love to see the same.

Sync pings and status across devices to get rid of double and redundant pings

Currently, if you are on desktop and read a chat, the ping will still show on your phone and stay there.
So whether it be a single message or a conversation, when you read a message on desktop the ping should go away on mobile.
Also, if you are already sitting on desktop having a conversation in chat, every single message shouldnt pop up on mobile over and over and over again.
The app should know when you are online in that chat not give you pings on all the others.
So if I am on mobile in a chat, dont give me pings on desktop for that channel.
If I am online on desktop in a channel, dont give me pings for that channel on mobile.
If I get a ping on mobile, and go read it on desktop, clear the ping on mobile after it is read on desktop.

Remove Push Notification Once Checked On Another Device/Browser
Dimitri Weslosky
For other apps, I feel like when I check the message or source of the notification on another browser or device, the Push notification goes away on my phone. I would love for that to happen with ClickUp as it becomes another place where I need to clear notifications.

Avoid desktop notifications already seen in mobile

When I turn on my office computer, all notifications that have not pop up in this computer, pops up all together, even if i´ve already erased them on my mobile. I keep on receiving old notifications when I start ClickUp in a "new" device. I mean, if I´m working on my office computer and I receive a notification, even if I clear it from inbox, when I arrive home and turn on my home computer, I receive the same notification

This should be done now! Let us know if you run into any issues :)
Thibaut
Brendan W I had created one of the merged posts, and this doesn't seem solved imo. there are still stale notifications on my phone. not necessarily chat specific
Brendan W
Thibaut Can you share more specifics? How old are they? Was your phone on while you read them on web or desktop?
Thibaut
Brendan W Sure, let's take an example. I have one on my phone right now. notif from 29 minutes ago about a chat message. on desktop, i've read that 20 minutes ago. so the phone one is stale. other apps would remove them.
Brendan W
Thibaut: Quick question! Do you notice the notifications that aren't being cleared are of a certain type? Such as reactions from other users or comments being assigned?
If you're interesting, we can also hop on a call and chat about this/investigate it!
Thibaut
Brendan W I didn't pay attention to specifics like that. I will in the next few days. "If you're interesting"... I hope i'm interesting 😂, so I don't mind getting on a call if it helps.
Brendan W
Thibaut: Haha I'll send you an email so we can stay in contact, but yes, please monitor what notifications you see didn't get cleared. Even better would be if you can grab the comment URLs of any that didn't get cleared and store them for later!

Yeah, I’ve noticed the same issue. It can get pretty annoying when you’ve already read the messages on desktop, but your phone still shows a pile of unread notifications like nothing happened.
From what I understand, iOS doesn’t automatically sync notification states unless the app itself handles it through the server. Apps like Slack or Telegram do it well — they clear push notifications once messages are opened elsewhere. So technically, it’s possible; it just needs proper implementation on the app’s backend.
I’d definitely support this feature. It makes the whole experience feel cleaner and more consistent across devices. Hopefully, the devs can add background sync or some sort of push revocation system soon.
On a related note, for anyone who likes testing or exploring alternative app versions, third-party app stores like Scarlet iOS can be really useful. They allow users to install tweaked or custom versions of apps that aren’t available on the official App Store — helpful for developers or testers experimenting with notification behavior or backend sync features.
