Create chat messages with an incoming webhook

I want to allow a third-party application to create messages in a ClickUp chat. The primary usecase is alerts.

Webhook for chat messages in ClickUp

Hello, I would like to know if there is a webhook to capture messages sent in the ClickUp chat. Currently, I see that there are webhooks for task comments, but not for chat messages. Is there any API or solution for this?
I have AI agents built in n8n, and I need my team to interact with them directly through ClickUp chat. Would it be possible to implement or configure this in some way?
I would like to know if there is a way to do this or if you could develop this feature.
Thank you!

Webhook for chats

To Connect 3rd party applications we love to have an option to create webhooks for single chats to push messages direct into the chat.

This feature would be extremely useful for our company, which currently uses Discord to notify the completion—whether successful or not—of certain pipelines. With the implementation of a Slack-compatible webhook, we will be able to centralize notifications and eliminate the need for other platforms.

Thank you for your feedback. ClickUp Zapier integration already supports sending messages to ClickUp Chat channels or DMs. Is this something that would help you setup those alerts?
If not, could you please share more context?

Tadej Jevševar the same is also doable with make.com?

Tadej Jevševar Personally I don't want to depend on Zapier. Having something like a slack-friendly format would be helpful.
Tadej Jevševar
Michel, understood regarding Zapier. Could you please provide an example that you currently have setup in Slack that is not available for you in ClickUp Chat today?
Michel
Tadej Jevševar I have 3 examples in mind right now, but we probably have more that we implemented then forgot about :
1. using Slack messaging packages in our apps (Node or Laravel).
Usually we use these packages with our clients (on Slack) and also internally (on Discord with slack-compatible webhooks, using the /slack suffix).
2. Using external services notifications without having to use Zapier. Eg Oh Dear is alerting us on our websites status using Slack webhooks.
3. Alertmanager alerts.
Honestly in our case, having a slack-compatible webhook system would be even more useful than a ClickUp chat specific one, until the ecosystems we use implement handlers for CU Chat

Thank you, Michel

Tadej Jevševar it’s easier to have a simple
direct connection from 3rd party site to ClickUp instead of relying on zapier as a middleman. We also push data from our own program/website to various slack channels. Ease of use makes using CU more manageable and scalable.

Same here, we're moving our conversations to ClickUp Chat, but we'll still keep a free version of Slack only for our incoming webhooks (90% of which are alerts).
We're so close from ditching Slack once and for all !

We can't leave Slack until we have this. A number of external and internal services post messages to our Slack channels so we can understand and find important events.
Would love to have this in ClickUp so we can leave Slack!
