MCP connector in Claude: option to turn off or shrink the inline task cards

I use the ClickUp connector in Claude all day, in both the desktop app and claude.ai. It runs my task list, purchasing, and project tracking. Before the recent change it was the most useful tool I had connected.
Now every ClickUp tool call draws a full card in the chat. That includes the lookups Claude makes on its own to answer a question. In the attached recording I asked one ordinary question about a 12-task list. Claude did a list lookup and then read each task.
Proposed solutions:
- A setting to turn the inline cards off and get plain results like before.
- Cards only for the task I asked about, not for the background lookups.
- A compact card: task name, status, due date, link.

Update: the inline cards now show up on write calls, not only reads
After more use, the problem is broader than the task cards in my original post. Every successful ClickUp MCP call in Claude now gets its own inline block, including writes:
- update_task, create_task and the new operator tool each show a separate block containing only raw JSON, like {"success":true,"task_id":"...","task_url":"..."}. A batch update of 20 tasks produces 20 of them, several screens tall.
- Read calls (get_task, filter_tasks, get_list) render full task cards with description, subtasks, custom fields and watchers. That happens even when the assistant only needs one field.
- Failed calls collapse into a single "Used ClickUp, N failed" line, which is how the successful ones should look too.
The actual summary of what was done ends up buried under the tool output.
As far as I can tell, the cause is that the server attaches its display widget to every tool, so the Claude client can't collapse the results. What would fix it:
- Remove the widget from write tools and the operator tool. A success response doesn't need a card.
- Add a setting (per workspace or per connection) to turn the inline cards off completely.
- Failing that, render cards collapsed by default, or only for a single explicit "show me this task" request.
The connector is useful, but in its current state, any session that touches more than a few tasks becomes hard to read.

The ClickUp connector shows an inline task card each time it reads, creates or updates a single task, and there is no ClickUp setting to hide or shrink those cards. Thank you for the detailed write-up.
