Joey This is fantastic to have, thanks to everyone on the team for this!
Got a new feature request for "recent search inputs," but other than that, what we have gets the job done. https://feedback.clickup.com/new-mobile-app/p/recent-search-inputs

Make it easier to access Search from anywhere
Guy Mannerings
Currently, if you are deep in a bunch of nested subtasks, accessing the sidebar menu requires navigating all the way back up the chain of parent tasks, back to the home screen.
It can take a lot of time, when all you might want to do is open search.
Could we please get access to the sidebar menu from everywhere? E.g., by swiping from the left.
Joey
Thanks for this suggestion, can you please give me an example where this would have helped you? It helps a lot! 🙌

Hey, Guy Mannerings!
We are trying to solve this issue right now. We want to make sure that users can swipe left to right to go back one level as that's a pretty common pattern on mobile.
We did have an idea of having a long-press on the back button to allow you to choose what you go back to. This could also include popular areas like search, inbox/notifications, and Home. Thoughts?

This may actually work better if you didn't actually come from Search or Inbox.

Joey: Long press to choose where to go back to would be good, as that is similar to how mobile browsers work with the back button.
But I feel like swiping left to right should not go backwards, and instead should bring up the sidebar.
The sidebar gives you instant access to search, favourites, spaces, docs, etc. It allows for quick navigation.
Because another related problem is, when you are deep in to nested subtasks, it can take ages to just get back to the sidebar in order to navigate somewhere else, or to use search, or to go to the Home screen, etc.
This is made worse if you then need to get back in to that nested subtask you were in, when all you wanted to do was quickly access something via the sidebar.
If you could swipe to bring up the sidebar quickly, this would solve that issue.
There is already a back button on tasks, so losing the ability to swipe to get the sidebar up in order to go backwards when you already have the ability to quickly do that seems a bit of a wasted opportunity.
Alternatively, have a sidebar button. But that feels less elegant.
Hope that makes sense!
