Quickly create basic tasks like an inbox
Adam Davidson
For quickly jotting down a task on the run, don't require choosing space:list. Just have an inbox as holding place. Later, can add assignees lists etc.

I think there could simply be a feature to indicate the preferred list or default list.
This way, once the default list is indicated, and you are not within a list, creating any task will already activate that default list.

Options to consider for quick add of task guys...
Quick add todoist (SO many options including lock screen widget on ios), and then just use a zap to move it over.
Use shortcuts to request for text then use webhooks or email url pulled from your Clickup ïnbox" list add task.
I use the Braintoss app with 5 predefined clickup email id's that correspond to the main clickup lists I use. With Braintoss, you can now type in a text, click a pic or dictate to text, and have it sent straight into clickup as a task this way.

The creation of the task (detail) is incomplete, so it should indicate it’s not complete and auto prompt to complete the creation of the task (entry of sub tasks, assignment etc)

Paul: Agreed, a completion % would be a nice addition for this
Leslie Surel
Yes - I use other apps for this and then have to remember to add to clickup. :(

Yeah I literally use Todoist and a zap to allow me to do this on the fly. It's saves me tons of time but would love this on clickup.

Vinay Chatlani: Nice idea. I currently use Todoist as there is no better at easily adding a Task. If Clickup was as seamless that would be todo heaven

Joey: Oh, that's great! This is the missing piece I've been waiting for for years. Finally, I can get rid of my to-do list. Having the same option on desktop, maybe as a floating widget to quickly add tasks 'Todoist style', would be something to consider?
Ginger Marcus
Joey: thank you. I built a list for it but it will be much easier if it’s a feature 🌟

Ginger Marcus: Same, list advocate here 👋🏻 Excited for this feature

Joey: I thought this was introduced with the 3.04 update and the introduction of the "personal list". I got really excited only to discover that this new personal list is not available on mobile (where you really need it most). Is this going to be rolled out soon?

Joey: Reposting here
if/when I click 't' keyboard shortcut on desktop/web, or click on 'create task' on mobile, or via certain button shortcuts on android/ios devices in they're quick access toolbar, then the 'create new task' window appears, with the default location = either Personal List or a new default/basic 'Inbox' List OR have the ability to set a Defaut Location/List for newly created tasks', then I create the task and the task gets added to the corresponding list.
hope this comes fast

Nat Roman: Hey there! We have a beta-version of Personal List in our mobile app but there are some bugs around missing tasks that we are fixing up before releasing.
I am talking to the team about a potential open beta for passionate users like you, and if that idea is approved then I will let you know :)

Joey: Thanks Joey. Glad it is being worked on. The beta idea sounds interesting (but I would hate for tasks to go missing - that sounds kind of scary).
Joey
Nat Roman: Hi! Sorry for the confusion, I meant some tasks on web aren't appearing on mobile. BUT we are fixing it 😊 It is the main bug we are fixing before starting up that beta.

Joey: Got it. I'd be up for the Beta if you roll it out.
Dani
Nat Roman agree this is by far the most obscure thing in 3.0.
