Our team relies heavily on ClickUp Docs for internal documentation and public sharing. While the in-app editor is useful for writing and collaboration, there’s currently no reliable way to preview the final version of a document before exporting it (e.g., to PDF) or publishing.
Problem: We often need to format our documents so that they look good both in-app and externally.
However, the current lack of a preview mode makes it difficult to verify how the document will appear when exported or shared.
This leads to issues like:
• Unexpected formatting problems in the PDF version.
• Blank pages appearing during export, likely due to invisible spacing issues or lack of page break indicators.
• Uncertainty about layout, especially for longer documents.
Suggested Solution:
1. Add a “Preview” button that allows users to see how the document will look:
• When shared via a public link.
• When exported as a PDF or printed.
2. Introduce Page Break functionality:
• Let users manually insert page breaks to control where content breaks across pages during export.
• Visual indicators for page boundaries in the editor would also be helpful.
Why This Matters:
• Enhances the professionalism of shared documents.
• Saves time by reducing trial-and-error with repeated exports.
• Improves trust in the Docs feature as a reliable internal and external documentation tool.
