Improve Mobile Task view structure: Make action items more clear, make it easier to comment
planned
Guy Mannerings
Right now, you have to scroll on EVERY task to see if there are subtasks, checklist items, and assigned comments.
There is nothing telling you that a task has these right away.
This is a huge problem for subtasks, which get missed easily.
On 2.0, there was the bar at the bottom that told you if there were subtasks, assigned comments, and checklist items.
Removing this has meant things get missed easily.

Hey mobile users! 👋 We have some designs to share that we'd love your feedback on.
This survey should only take a few mins and will greatly help us make some movement on this request!
If the images in the TypeForm are difficult to see, please refer to these Figma prototypes, but try to keep your feedback in the survey.

Thank you everyone! 💜

Joey my favorite would be definitely the Version with the tabs. All easy and fast to see and understand and intuitive to use.
A thought that only comes to my mind with the Comments, could they not also be better a Tab? And in general I think that the closer it is to the Desktop-Version the better it would be because people did not have to think much because they can also explain from a desktop user etc. Just my raw thoughts about the mobile App 👍

Tobias Naumer I agree with that. Synchronization between multiple platforms harmonizes it.

Tobias Naumer: Thank you very much!
We could have comments as a tab, but we actually are hearing a fair bit of feedback that swiping over to a tab to see activity and comments is more annoying than seeing it via a small scroll. Many of our competitors have also moved in this direction.
In the survey above, a very small % of users felt unsure about Activity being below, which seems to align with that hypothesis.
That being said, we will keep showing it to users like you and make sure it's solid and clear for everyone before getting this built!
Tobias Naumer
Joey yes sounds plausible and think with the activities they have below with a smaller scroll then it is also good intuitive to use. I also think it's very cool that you get live feedback in order to really develop it in a customer-oriented way based on user feedback and not alone in a closet 👌🏽🚀
Joey
That makes me so happy Tobias, that is always our goal, building with you all!

Please add "home" and "search" button on Task view
Guy Mannerings
Can you please make "search" and "home" more accessible from within Task view?
If you are in a 7 layer deep nested subtask, you have to click the back button so many times to get back to the home screen or search box.
Joey
I am adding this to our task on Task view navigation. I am sharing a design there early next week that tackles this, so stay tuned!

Redesign mobile custom fields section for improved UX
Liam
On mobile, the custom fields section feels "out of brand" and is difficult to use, especially when viewing large bodies of text. The markdown formatting isn’t working as it does on desktop, and the current two-column layout makes it hard to scan information. I suggest redesigning this section with a single-column approach to improve readability, ensure consistent formatting with desktop, and make it easier to scan and interact with data. I’ve added a screengrab to demonstrate the problem.
Joey
Hey Liam, thanks for this. We are working on this right now actually as part of another request. I will merge these so you can keep up to date with task view changes.

November 2025 update
We will be sharing updates here soon to validate some designs. Thank you all for your ideas and help improving Task view on mobile!

Hi, Joey since you guys have been making great progress with the mobile UX redesigns lately, which is really appreciated. I was just wondering if I've flagged this pre-emptively, and whether something like this has already been considered or added to your list? Thanks.
