This is good, definitely need landscape view as you mentioned. It would be great if you could have subtasks under the main tasks that you could click open and close. They would be bullets under the main tasks. It would help you stay in the context of the timeline while quickly checking details. But it's a small screen so could be overkill. Thank you!

This would be a great function, some of us, myself include have foldable phones so can see much more than a standard phone anyway.

Joey
Hi everyone! How would you feel about this experience on mobile? It would also have a great landscape mode and tablet experience. I think it works well for seeing high level project progress, even on small screens. This is quite a complex view so let me know what you think and if you feel anything critical is missing, although keep in mind that this is a prototype and is not fully functional.
Thanks!

Joey I think that looks great. Just need to make sure theres a safeguard to not drag or move things when trying to navigate the screen with a finger on the phone

love this idea and for me, it's still the best way of seeing an overview of active projects, and I'd love this on mobile!

Joey yeah, we just need to make sure that you can't accidentally destroy schedules that way.
Maybe there could be some type of lock or something in order to ensure that. When the lock is removed, you could edit it if you wanted to visually edit it that way.

Joey I think this is great, I like the way it previews the task at bottom when I touch one, and I can open it. It would be a bit annoying trying to create/edit a schedule like this, but I would be fine to go to a bigger screen to do that.
One thing I would not want is the title jumping left and right of the bar. Too much going on. Just keep the titles on the right side. I LOVE how it shows the light grey title on rows not in the view (and I can select them and see the overview at the bottom), but don’t do this on the back side of the bar pls. We PMs are forward looking! Great first iteration

Joey
Thank you all! Do you think it's important to allow editing of tasks in this view at all on mobile? I was thinking about it more like a page where you can:
- See and understand project health
- Zoom in and out, change the time period to get a better view
- Open tasks from the Gantt
I did not plan on bringing any of these capabilities to mobile:
- Dragging to change start or due dates (too tight or difficult i feel on mobile)
- Creating tasks inline on a specific date (felt too tricky with many of the time periods having only a few px for a whole week or month)
- Marking tasks in Gantt as done, updating statuses or assignees, etc.
I'd love to know what you all think about that though! Joe Wechsler Anthony Weeden Vincent D'Amico Colin Miller & any others!

Joey personally, I can live with it. I know I had an events team and construction team that didn't want to use the product because it didn't have all these features many years ago.
I can't say that, down the line, you might not want to consider these things, or recommend that somebody have an iPad or something in order to really work on it, because I agree it's a nuance. It's a bonus, really, to be mobile like this, progressive.
What if somebody notices something, and something's off or needs to be adjusted? Now, some people work that way, but not me. I know it might be a problem for some, so I'm not telling the line. I think it'd be a real future thing, but let the others that deal with this type of thing more give you their feedback.
I just know that I had teams that couldn't use it because, at the scale it needed to be, there were so many features that would have needed to be inside of the product to begin with. I wasn't able to expand out with those different teams. Because of limitations with the platform to begin with, way before 4.0 hit and everything else. Thanks again. Been an incredible journey together.

Joey I would love to see you guys approach this as a two phase project - first build the 'view' mode, second build the 'edit' mode. View mode alone would be so much better than nothing, and it's achievable.
Edit mode will take more time, but it would be so sweet. Phone might not be amazing, but iPad would be very good.

Joey
Vincent D'Amico Yeah for sure, I hear you. Users will still be able to edit the tasks in Task view, but I get your point and see how this could be seen as another limit.
I agree with Colin, and that shipping this in two iterations is a good idea. Once we release the first version, we can put editing of Gantt charts (especially on iPad) in the roadmap alongside improving other parts of the product!

Joey here is a quick idea I had for editing: https://screen.studio/share/fsFmYpqQ

Joeyi think it looks good overall. Wondering if you make the first thing on the line the circle to change the status of the task, put task name next and then the gantt line and dependencies. When you slide the panel it leaves the status of the task circle and the name of the task and possibly owner circle.
It would also be great if you could collapse or nest tasks under another. Sharing an example from another project plan example.

Colin, woah I like it, very nice idea.

Joey
Anthony, thank you! I will look into it. I definitely see how that could work on tablet!

Hello, any update about it? Thank you

Understand that it's not ideal to edit a gantt on mobile and I agree. But the ability to view a gantt chart when on the move is quite pivotal. When all we need is a quick confirmation of the sequence of tasks or plan and we can't do it (even if view only), it's quite disappointing since the hard work has already been done to create the gantt view and do the planning.

Joey
Qader Alsagoff: I hear you. Are there other apps that you have used in the past that have great Gantt views accessible on mobile? We'd love to see if there is a simpler solution to implement in the future that would meet your needs.

Joey smartsheet has a pretty great mobile gantt view - love clickup but very disappointed this is missing- please prioritize! we are on job sites daily and cannot live without a gantt view

November 2025 update
Hey all, thanks for voting on this request and providing feedback. At the moment, this feature is not planned or on our roadmap, but we are continuing to consider it as we plan our quarters. Our focus right now is primarily on improving the existing mobile experience and ensuring a high bar for quality & ease of use.
Stay tuned!

Joey since you brought up mobile app, reminders 4.0 that go into inbox do not send push notifications nowhere, there are just moved from later to primary. so i guess this does not make them reminders! they should be a notification popup once the reminder from a task (inbox) triggers.
K
It would be incredible to have this feature added to the mobile app. There’s a lot missing although it is slowly improving.

Gantt is the only view I use. Renders the app almost useless for me without it. This would bring the app to the next level when it comes to PMs that are always on the move!

At least make this feature status "planned"
