Edit Custom Fields on Mobile
B
Brendon Algeier
On the mobile app, custom fields cannot be edited until after the task is posted. It would be helpful to be able to add data to custom fields prior to posting the task.

Happy Friday, Mobile users! Soon, we will be shipping an AI experience on mobile that enables you to explain the Custom Fields that you need and it will create them.
This isn't the full Custom Field creation experience, but I was curious if this would suit your needs.
Let me know below!

Joey Just the ability to add and edit custom fields manually would be great.
Anthony Biondo
Joey it’s more about being able to easily add and edit existing fields easily via mobile.
I know there is a lot of excitement around the AI features but more core features to improve usability on the go would be great.

Joey no, this would not suit my needs.
Joey
Tiana Blackmon: Got it, can you help us with some more info? Can you help me understand the last time this would have helped you?
Same to Jackson & Anthony if you don't mind!

Joeyi use clickup, in part, to keep track of product updates. I need the custom fields for different characteristics of the products.

Joey The key element of the desired mobile functionality change, at least for me personally, is the editing aspect; implementing AI-supported creation alone, although better than nothing, still leaves a big gap with editing left unaddressed

Joey Never needed to add custom fields on mobile (yet) but have needed to edit custom fields:
- Change field name
- Add/remove options (dropdown)
- Change option colours
- Edit custom formulas

Add a Text option in properties or fields !!!

Why is there not a Text property in the Default??
On the mobile app, why is there not a a text property or field. What if I don’t want to use the the 8 default properties- what if I want to just add a quick URL like Notion. Or write a quick text note in a column??? Nope!! I can’t because everyone at ClickUp wants to use an assignee, or a due date, or comment.
Just add a “Text” field or property to the default in the mobile app !!!! Please for the all of us creators

Hi, did you try to use the Task Description? This works well if you want to add some more depth + context to a task.
That being said, if you wish to see it in List view like a column, then it makes more sense for you to use a Short Text custom field. Unfortunately, you can't create these on mobile yet. So you have to create it on ClickUp web and then you can edit whenever you are on mobile.

As I can see they wont fix this in this decade. Until that, I use a simple workaround, another custom field, but set as text. (I named it as Location (mobile)...🤷🏻♂️😩

Would be lovely. The app says I can add a custom field to a task/subtask, but when I tried last night and refreshed, everything I did disappeared. Also finding where to go to do it was confusing, frustrating, and not intuitive.

please add this feature in the mobile application as it is very much helpful and we don't need to go to pc again and again for just to add custom field or edit custom fields it's frustrating
