Use case for me is that I use clickup as a CRM. I want to keep a record of client messages and communications in the activity section of my tasks with type = "Client". While most use email, lots of my clients like to message and communicate through WhatsApp.

It would be useful to be able to select WhatsApp or Comment or Email in the Activity Pane on a Task.
Other use case, create a Task from an incoming WA message.

Zach hello, thank you for the clarification message. I believe that the future will be the integration of platforms like Twillio, or n8n. The ideal would be for ClickUp to provide APIs, Webhooks or official nodes to facilitate these integrations. Thank you very much!

We’re a Europe-based team and heavy users of ClickUp – we love how seamlessly it brings our workflow together. One feature that would make a huge difference for us (and likely many other European teams) would be the ability to integrate WhatsApp into ClickUp Chat.
In Europe, WhatsApp is the dominant messaging platform – used by 85–90% of internet users. Our team maintains close relationships with customers, and many of those interactions happen via WhatsApp Business. However, not every team member is in direct contact with clients and wants to manage separate WhatsApp accounts, or bounce between apps for internal and customer communication.
ClickUp Chat is a perfect centralized solution – clean, collaborative, and deeply tied into our tasks and workflows. If we could route WhatsApp messages directly into ClickUp Chat, it would allow customer-facing teammates to manage all their WhatsApp conversations within ClickUp, while others continue to communicate via ClickUp Chat.
Here’s how we imagine it working:
• Customer success managers connect their WhatsApp Business number to ClickUp Chat.
• Incoming WhatsApp messages from clients show up in ClickUp Chat of our customer success managers and when they reply via ClickUp Chat, the answer is sent via WhatsApp to the client
• Team members without connecting their WhatsApp can view and contribute only to Native ClickUp Chats and Threads
• All communication – internal and external – stays visible, searchable, and actionable within ClickUp.
Here is a example for the integration between WhatsApp and another Chat platform?
This would massively streamline collaboration, improve transparency, and keep our customer conversations tied to our work.
