Why I still use Loom for now...
Jake Spirek
I definitely appreciate that CU has made it super easy to screen record.
Still not as robust as Loom though.
One thing I love is how it tells me when it’s been viewed.
There’s also no way to trim it or play at faster speeds (for people who talk slowly like me! haha)
Love that CU is working on it, but it’ll take a little more polish before I jump ship.

What I would also add here is that you can simply upload other videos later if it is z.B. Once another video that you want to record as an SOP, simply upload it so that it is still clean in the “loom”. There is currently nothing around Loom for me and I rarely use the click-up recording function. Among other things because:
- There is no video camera when shooting so that people can see me and make it more personal.
- Automatic titles are created, automatic table of contents with jump points are created, and also the option to add a sub-description if you also use the Loom Video z.B as a VLS and upload to your video courses such as Skool Classroom, Kajabi, Memberspot or the like for SOPs, onboarding videos, customer coaching, etc.
- Possibility to cut quickly or even have idle time cut out automatically.
- Also the option that free guests (customers who are invited to their project, etc.) can also answer in a short video. With Loom, for example, free accounts can record videos of up to 5 minutes, which is enough to answer.
- And also that you can see who watched it when and what percentage looked through it to really understand whether someone also has all the information or jumped out again after the first 1-2 minutes.
That's the big functions that I immediately think of spontaneously that I've been waiting a long time for them to finally be integrated into Clickup. Hope that helps and it gets to that level sooner or later.

Loom is still better
-Can use the camera feature
-Tells you who's viewed the recording
Please help us, ClickUp :D

Hello we are now in July 2024 and the same missing features are not here yet. I thought I would be able to record myself just like in Loom, but this is not possible in ClickUp. It only records the screen. Why do you say this tool replaces Loom when it doesn't offer the same features? I feel tricked and will now go back to using Loom for recordings. It's so much better.

Have to agree. It doesn't come close to "replaces Loom" when view counts are non-existent. Hopefully it shows up soon.

Hey, everyone! Thank you for following along on this post and providing your feedback!
To keep everyone informed, we've updated the status of this Canny post to reflect current product initiatives.
We are prioritizing enhancements that will encompass the most usability among all our users.
This request is still very much on our radar and the ClickUp team will keep this post up to date when we have more to share regarding this feature in the future!
Hannah Johnson
Zeb please let us know if this is still in the works, it's been a couple years. For our remote team it makes so much sense to have the full capability that Loom has (with screen+camera recording at the same time, a location for recordings, etc)

Hannah Johnson: Hey, Hannah! Jumping in for Zeb here. Thank you for your comment. I've updated the status of this post to reflect current product initiatives. We will keep this post up to date as we have more information to share!

Don't forget putting your little face on the screen too 😂

Looks like this is taking quite a long to accomplish. Nearly 2 years ago and still not able to.
Hard to say you replace apps when you don't have the primary features that they offer.
Similar with replacing slack when you don't even have a simple DM function and the operation of the #channels section of their platform.
In regards to Loom replacing, 100% need to be able to have video capture of our camera. Also having an easy number of views option as well as adding other graphics or design options during the video is a must.

Adding another important request:
To replace Loom fully - please add "Emoji Reactions" to the video itself (where it marks it at the exact time stamp of the actual video)
Wagsueden
David N: Agree. I love ClickUp but the recording feature on ClickuUp does not replace Loom. Especially the comment section on Loom is gold if you collab with a team since we can comment on each others comments and have a discussion while we see the same thing even though we work in different time zones. I like ClickUp being cocky haha but ClickUp have to add comments sections, emojis and maybe even something extra in order to beat Loom on their thing ;)

I wanted to add a few things about the loom integration...
Right now I feel it's really buggy in many ways:
- Videos get lost. Me and my team have recorded many videos and some of them get lost while uploading if we accidentally click outside the task. When we go in the task, the recording is missing which sucks because we wasted time recording and uploading.
- Upload is waaaaaay slow. If videos are 10min long it takes forever to upload. I use loom app and I LOVE that videos are quickly available.
- Speed control is crucial as Jake said.
- We cant control which microphone is selected so sometimes the integration picks up the wrong mic and the whole recording is soundless meaning you have to record all over again.
- The ability to pause and resume recording is also very nice in loom app.
