Ugh beyond frustrated with this and the lack of simple functions throughout clickup...

In my opinion this is a core feature for a whiteboard app and not having it is therefore a deal breaker. I am shocked to see this hasn't received way more votes.
We currently use MIRO across our organization and every couple months I test Whiteboards as I really want to eliminate MIRO from our workflows. We embed MIRO into our ClickUp lists, conduct brainstorming etc in MIRO and then convert work into ClickUp. The ClickUp MIRO plugin/integration is clunky and we would far prefer to use Whiteboards and at the same time eliminate the cost of MIRO.
There are some other Whiteboard ideas that would bring it closer to MIRO feature parity but this one has to be the most obvious one to tackle next. Seems like low hanging fruit to me. Zach - ClickUp would love all the help you can give to get this into development.

I was thinking of switching from Miro/Mural but the inability of locking the template causes a lot of disruption because people start mistakenly moving things

I'm actually shocked this feature request is there since 2021. For me it's pretty much unusuable for my use cases. Will switch to Miro again

any news on this feature?
Items locking will allow to work better with complex whiteboards where is needed to design a background structure where to position objects

I would love to see this implemented, especially since there is no way to change the background color/image

Locking items on Whiteboard

I would like to be able to lock items so that they do not move on the whiteboard. For example, I have a text box or images on top of a shape- I try to move or edit the text box and I keep moving the shape instead. If I were able to lock the shape- I could easily edit the other things stacked on top.
