I just have a very hard time working with the Shapes / They dont seem to scale and have issues with using Type within them.

I understand there have been many improvements to Whiteboards shapes since this report so marking as completed. But please shout if you're still having issues :)

You and your teams all have been crushing it on Clickup since 2023 and especially this year hitting it out of the ball park.
One of the biggest missing pieces for whiteboards and ClickUp is that the framing tool of how it works in Miro does not print the background of Clickup Objects for presentation modes.
There's a technical limitation with something to do with the background that's used. The design actual tasks don't appear when you're dragging and dropping tasks. When exporting as PDF's with Presentations.
While there are improvements to whiteboards, it was missing the significant improvement that I was speaking of from my original request. I didn't understand at the time of the technical limitations relating to how backgrounds of Task Objects etc work currently within clickup. So While significant improvements have been made made. There are still more jumps needed
I feel your on the brink of greatness with it though. Its another limitation that is still holding back Whiteboards from Shining. Not sure how you will prioritize that. But I do think there's a lot of value in presentation and tying the context of everything together. Giving users of Clickup the super power to share customized presentations via whiteboards frames that could match a pdf and be exportable. From Visualization Whiteboard to PDF presentation.
While I know the other elephant in the room is also for Ipad being able to work on Whiteboard like the other competitor product does. Maybee I should put in that separate request on the mobile side.

Vincent D'Amico: thanks for your kind words and feedback Vincent! Totally agree with everything you said.
There are a few (smaller) initiatives to explore how whiteboards can be used to create slides and presentations, and we're working on improving how tasks, docs, etc. are embedded in whiteboards, and fixing some issues with PDF exports.
Mobile is aware of this feature request to support whiteboards but unfortunately just hasn't been able to prioritise it just yet.

Always thank you for the transparency. One step at a time our Business Knowledge Management & Project Management needs are heading for the moon. You really have been improving so much of the product lately its insane.
I know some people might have specific needs or wants for different features, but I see the progress you're making as a whole product. I cant really let go of some of the utility those other products have. Because of how i specifically use them.
Some of these utility features are great. Maybe not necessary right away for click up or may never be invested in, but it's great to work towards with that deeper vision in mind.
That's why I like to share some of the feedback specifically. With you and the clickup team because you actually listen and hear our thoughts. Then put it to action.

Vincent D'Amico: oh yes please and do keep the feedback coming! Sometimes a seemingly tiny tweak to the product can unlock big use cases. We try to prioritise quick wins like this.

I agree. Adding text to shapes is really frustrating. I'll make a copy of a previous shape (to maintain similar size and aspect ratio), and as soon as I start adding text to the shape it expands it out, which negates the point of copying an existing shape. (Also, it'd be nice to actually see the cursor inside of the shape...it's difficult to tell if the shape is "ready" for me to type or not.)
It also seems that if I have flow chart elements and then add in a mind map, the mind map is hugely laggy. For instance, when I zoom into just the flow chart elements, the performance is fine. If I scroll over a bit, the second I hit the mind map, everything lags, and makes the mind map really frustrating to use and view.
I'd also like to put in a request for:
- additional shapes (arrows, octagons, etc.)
- the ability to create custom colors from a color picker.

I'm disappointed to see my post merged here. It was much stronger on its own. "Whiteboard Enhancements" is far too vague to get votes.
The issue I posted is quite specific and desperately needs addressing if whiteboards can ever be usable for flow charts.

I love whiteboards until I've used them for about 20 minutes. After that, I want to punch myself in the face to try to feel better.
Arrows go in the most impossibly wrong places.
Shapes sometimes resize and sometimes don't.
And unless they are the peeeeeerfect size, the arrows won't be straight.
This gif perfectly captures how it is using whiteboards. I just want to put a parallelogram in-between two steps. It shouldn't be this hard (impossible).
After a few minutes of this, your mind is fried and you give up.
