Webcam in Clips
Elliot Sheen
It would be great to be able to have our webcam show in clips. It says "Replaces Loom" in the ClickApps library, but without the ability to show a webcam also, I don't think it's quite there. Much more personal with a head in a circle! 👍

Finally more consensus coming on this one: 5 years for such a simple feature it's wild (considering the claim that Clip replaces Loom, not true until we can do this)

Just joined CU a week ago, and can't believe this isn't a feature yet, and they're proactivity claiming it's a loom alternative...
Combined with the fact that you can't upload any videos on the platform (like you can with loom), this makes it unusable.

yikes, 5 year old request and still no movement

Totally agree, we still have to pay for loom because of this

This will be the deal breaker for moving from Loom to Clickup.

For anyone stumbling upon this post and looking for this feature, only to realize it’s not here yet, I recommend this (free) workaround app called Pearl: https://apps.apple.com/nl/app/pearl-mirror-in-your-menubar/id1152715357?mt=12.
Pearl offers a webcam bubble that stays on top of other apps, much like the Loom webcam bubble. It’s incredibly handy for maintaining visibility while recording, and in many ways feels like a direct alternative to Loom’s overlay feature. Combine this with full-screen recording, and you’ve basically got the same functionality.
For those of us hoping to see this feature in ClickUp Clips, it’s important to understand the technical limitations. ClickUp Clips is a browser-based tool, and browsers (like Chrome) currently don’t support persistent webcam overlays across apps or tabs. In contrast, Loom’s desktop app and native macOS apps like Pearl can achieve this by leveraging system-level permissions that browsers simply can’t replicate.
While I’d love to see ClickUp bring this feature to life, it might require a significant architectural shift, likely through the native desktop app. Until that happens, Pearl is a great alternative for macOS users. There are probably similar apps available for Windows users too, so it might be worth checking for alternatives if you’re on a different platform.

I just want to add, this would make it possible to switch over from Loom.

Can't switch from Loom without this

Please add this, only thing keeping me from switching from loom :(

For ClickUp Clips to be a real alternative to Loom, this webcam integration is really essential for us!
