"Watch" folders and lists
Shane Evans
People can watch specific tasks, but it seems more helpful to be able to Watch folders and lists. Its difficult to click on each and every task to watch them, and really it might be an entire project you want to be kept up to date on. Is it possible to have ability to Watch at these higher levels?

My job is to monitor any movement across lists. In other tools I would do this by working my way through the notifications that would be generated by watching lists/boards. At any time I can clearly see movement on my lists. There is no easy way to do this in clickup, driven by monitoring and clearing notifications.

@clickup Can we please have an update for this? Watchers for Lists makes a lot more sense than for single tasks, since watchers are generally interested in project management (List) progress. I also back R C's comments on consistency. Many thanks!

This definitely needs to be a feature!

we really need this. We have an active development style with people jumping in and out of projects (represented by clickup lists). They need to be able to watch (and un-watch) these lists.
Using automation is not realistic in this situation.

I may have a possible workaround for this. If you click on Automate when in the list or folder view, then "Always add watchers:" and then Myself (or any desired user)

I am usually setting up lists for my manager so that he can track projects. There is no way how either he can "follow" the list or I can set him as a "watcher" on the list. That would be great and important to have. Doing it via automations is not really practicable as there might be several people who need to watch a list or folder.

you can set an automation rule in the space to set watchers

This!
Also - is it possible to receive an email notification at the list/folder level when a new task is added?
