Today, ClickUp Documents do not have dynamic integration with task fields (including formulas). This limits the creation of reports and proposals within the ecosystem itself, forcing users to resort to external solutions or manual updates to keep information consistent.
Example: if a formula field calculates the price of a product or the progress of a task, that data cannot be displayed in a Document automatically - any change requires manual editing.
Solution proposal:
Add dynamic variable functionality to Documents.
The user could insert, within the text, placeholders linked to task/list fields (including formulas).
Whenever the task value is updated, the Document would automatically reflect the change.
Suggested syntax: {{Formula.Price field}} or selection via menu in the document editor.
Practical use cases:
Progress reports that update themselves based on task percentages.
Commercial proposals that pull calculated values through formula fields (e.g., total cost, discounts).
Project status documents that display real-time metrics without the need for manual maintenance.
