User-friendly Mind Map Builder

User-friendly Mind Map Builder
Example software: XMind
I want to build a mind map using just a few keyboard shortcuts.
Best Practice:
Enter = New topic field
TAB = New subtopic field
I want to select mind map formats:
e.g.,
Timeline
Organizational chart
Tree diagram
etc.
-> starting with 1 New Topic field + 1 Subtopic field
The following things are annoying:
When I open a new topic field, I have to awkwardly adjust the arrow as desired. The arrow should at least always be attached to the side where I open the new field.
When adjusting the arrow, the text settings bar is almost always in the way.

Thanks for the detail. A couple of things. We're building AI-powered mind map generation on the whiteboard canvas via prompt. You can vote for that here: https://feedback.clickup.com/p/generate-mind-maps-in-whiteboard-from-brainmax-prompt (building now, 40 votes). A dedicated XMind-style tool outside the canvas isn't on our plate for whiteboards. That sits with our Views team who owns the standalone Mind Maps View, so a repost in that category would get it in front of the right people. The shortcut idea (Enter for new topic, Tab for subtopic) is nice, saved for when we revisit canvas interactions.
