Use Gantt view without dates

From support ticket: user would like to be able to use Gantt view without dates so that they can still create dependencies between tasks while still unsure of their start dates.

dependncy view

I would love a gantt style view of just dependencies. We do a lot of projects without a set deadline, but there are specific orders that things must be done. It would be great to be able to see where different projects are in "picture" form.

View and manage task dependencies in Map Map view.

It would very helpful to see and create/edit taks dependencies in Map Map View. It's ideal view type for such a work. I know it can be done in Gantt view, but Gantt to be useful need start/end date and etc. Map Map is much more compatible with task, which are not fixed in time.

A new View showing task dependencies

I want a View showing dependencies of tasks in a View similar to Gant, Mind Map or Timeline. There is no need for dates or durations, ONLY sequences. You may call it Task Dependency Network.
This will simplify....
- the sequencing of tasks,
- the time when tasks needs to be performed,
- the accountability and
- decision sequences.

Idea on a dependency view

Could Clickup recycle the Gantt view scrub the calender dates but keep the ease of setting up dependencies. The current method is painful when dealing with multiple linkages. Currently when I need to set multiple dependencies I give them all a temp date use the Gantt to link them, then scrub the dates when done. If Clickup can reuse most of the work they did with the Gantt view and provide this as an optional view, it would be a welcome improvement. Possibly replace the top dateline with time estimates a little like the timeline view. All tasks would be visible, not just dated tasks. Any tasks that do not have a duration assigned can be hollow for example when you pull a handle then it sets a duration, and they turn solid the linking would function as the current Gantt but not assign dates. You can kill two birds with one stone, durations and dependencies with one view.

Chart that visually displays dependencies, without considering "time"

Like a Gantt chart, but irrespective of due dates.
Especially during the brainstorming phase of a project, we need to be able to visually see all the connectedness of dependent tasks. However, I don't want to assign due dates to all of these this early in the game. (Especially when 10 tasks would overlap as being due on the same day...this makes Gantt charts so messy.)

For planning out a project, it would be very helpful to visualize dependencies of tasks without adding concrete dates/timeline to it yet.

exactly, I want to be able to visualize and organize the dependencies between tasks/milestones without having to enter dates

I agree, this would be very helpful. In the present Gantt, I see that there is a dependency but cannot trace where it comes from. If you could at least add it to the option to add the column dependenies.
