Use forms to update existing Tasks

Use forms to update existing tasks fields.
E.g in the inventory management template.. Use forms to CheckOut or CheckIn assets into the inventory using custom forms and update the value of stock in background.

This would be really help full for onboarding & in-take to collect docs/media and once collected it checks off said connected task.

This would help a process of our where a client needs to add information easily to a pre configured Task / List !

I would LOVE to be able to update a task with a filled in form- especially for client management in a table view. Ex: parent task is client name. In table view, custom fields track misc information. You send a form to the client who fits an additional set of parameters or you need additional information for and they fill it out- additional custom fields are then filled in or populated by form responses enhancing the data in the parent task (ie client file). It would be exceptional if multiple forms for various situations could be applied to the same parent task. (ex: client onboarding-> form 1 is the interest form that collects their basic information, -> depending on what "flow/s" they qualify for -> form 2, 3, etc gathers additional information that would update the parent task custom fields building a comprehensive client database in table view

Alot of great progress has been made with forms over the last year.
Being able update existing tasks or to create Subtasks via Forms for a specific Task. Would be pretty big. This would give the ability for a client to submit actionable tasks to there records instead of needing to setup each client or vendor as a list.
Also having the option to inherit from the parent task would be helpful. I know that has been on the chopping block for awhile.

Agreed. We would like Forms to be able to select specific tasks as well as update fields for that task.

This would be great! I have a use-case where users want to track what are essentially sub-tasks, but they don't know how many they need at the time of creating the task. Once they do, they want to update the task with new subtasks based on form entry. I was hoping I could use a "task update" form and some automations to get them where they wanted to be, but first the "update task via form" feature would need to be available.

Are they going to implement this?

This would be amazing as we currently have to rely on manual data entry to update existing tasks

Using forms would be a great method so I'll upvote this, selecting existing tasks from a dropdown at the form level would be amazing. Essentially we need any way to be able to "update" a task and its custom fields without necessarily logging in, opening the task, etc. A way to connect a new task to an existing task and say "update existing task's fields XYZ when a new task is created with the same [e.g.] project name" via automation would also work. Since we can't easily connect two tasks via automations (without knowing and copying the existing task ID first at least), and can't use one task's fields to update another's, we can't streamline our project/client status updates and have to either make it easy to submit them (via email to list or via form) and then manually connect the update submission, or actually go and open the individual tasks in-app.

We want to send our Customer Onboarding Forms directly from an existing Ticket.
