Issue Overview:
Our team faced an issue when a specific task was deleted along with its folder, and we didn’t realize it until later. As a result, we spent more time searching for the missing task than anticipated.
Problem Description:
Currently, when a folder is deleted, all items within it are deleted as well. However, the trash page only displays the folder itself, not the individual items it contained. This makes it difficult to locate the missing task or other deleted items.
Suggestions for Improvement:
  • Display Items Individually in Trash:
The trash page should show deleted items separately, such as tasks, subtasks, custom fields, templates, files, etc. This would make it easier to find missing items, especially when an entire folder is deleted.
  • Enable Viewing of Deleted Items:
It would be helpful if we could open and view deleted items to confirm we've found the correct one.
  • Reorganize Trash:
Instead of treating the trash as a separate entity, consider turning it into a "special" space or folder where all items are searchable, filterable, and viewable — similar to regular views. The key difference would be that items in this "trash" space would be permanently deleted after a certain retention period.
  • Extend Deletion Period:
Increase the retention period for deleted items to 60 or 90 days, allowing more time to recover items.
  • Show Deleted Items in Activity View:
It would be useful if deleted folders, tasks, subtasks, etc., could be displayed in an Activity view before being permanently deleted, with an option to view them.
  • Improve Trash Accessibility:
Move the trash from the settings section to a more accessible location, such as the spaces section or directly under the main navigation bar (e.g., Home, Inbox, Chat), for improved user experience.
